What fictional characters would fit in best (or worst) with the culture of the SDMB?

But didn’t Roland take care of that Son-of-a-Bitch Van Owen, back in Mombasa?

It’d sure make for a hell of a Pit thread with Roland Orzabal, wouldn’t it.

I think Lisa Simpson would last longer here than CBG.
Fred from Angel.
Heinlein’s Mycroft Holmes could end up a moderator–though he might get into trouble for his “Adam Selene” sock puppet.

I came in to say Greg House, but someone beat me to it!

I think Methos (from Highlander) would get a big kick out of the place. He, of course, would refuse to provide cites for anything. (His post is his cite.)

And maybe Daniel Jackson from Stargate.

Commander John Crichton, of FarScape, would get a big kick out of the place, assuming he could access it. I also see lots of posts to General Questions asking for advice on the best way to open a wormhole back to Earth, and maybe some GD threads asking about the repercussions of doing so.

Oh, and a Cafe Society thread on recipes for preparing food cubes in a way to make them palatable.

Best worst. Ignatius was a netkook before his time. Read Boethius. (Not relevant to the topic at hand, just what Ig would have told us to do every so often.)

I’d love to see the Doctor posting here, if only so I could cyber stalk him.

The one from Cast Away? :stuck_out_tongue:

Mr. Spock would be great poster.

Linus would be another but Lucy would probably be more popular.

Most of the people from Boston Legal would be fun to have here.

Cecil Adams

If he were fictional, yes.

If he were fictional, yes.

The urbane aristocratic polymath Doctor Eszterhazy would make a fine Doper (except in GD, argument not being much to his taste).

But the Emperor, the Crown Prince, the Crown Princeling – not so much.

If we could convince Hercule Poirot to unlurk, him and Holmes would probably merge into the most powerful detective force the internet has ever seen. But I don’t think he is the message board type.

Sandra Bullock’s character from The Net.

Santa Claus would fit in nicely. Not the Easter Bunny.

Dionysus would fit in well. Probably not Thor.

Dracula would love it here, but not Frankenstein’s monster.

lisa simpson

Oh, come on, people! The easy #1 choice: Batman. He’d always be prepared.

Lex Luthor and any of your other superintellects would probably do fine, too. And while Homer Simpson wouldn’t last a week, I think we can all admit that he’d get off one amazing, 35-page Pit thread that people would talk about for months.

PParker, NottheHulk, you’ve both been warned about giving medical advice of this type. Please do not do it again.”

Reports of his banning have been greatly exaggerated.

Actually, Batman would be un-prepared: he is too certain that he is Right to enjoy debate or dissent.

Superman, being a journalist & author, would be a fine choice.

Journalist? Author?

Say what?
