Would Solace not also be a natural? I picture “him” mostly posting in MPSIMS.
Antryg Windrose (from Barbara Hambly’s Windrose Chronicles). He’s brilliant, more than a little cracked, and interested in everything. Also, he’s a wizard from another world. He’d be all over GQ, mostly asking questions ranging from mundane stuff about fizzy drinks to abstruse physics. He’d have an “Ask the Wizard” thread somewhere, and in MPSIMS, he’d be trying to get us to collect and scan rubbings of tortoise shells for him.
Columbus from Zombieland. I figure he was the sort of guy to be a Doper before everything went south to begin with.
Commander Spock (2009) would of course hang out in GQ as a moderator, constantly getting on Kirk’s case for snide comments and overuse of the  emote.
Bud Roberts from JAG would be a lot of fun in Cafe Society, I think, with his comprehensive knowledge of many nerdy things (On a related note, MaGeek from NCIS for similar reasons. I can kinda see DiNozzo popping up in recommend-a-cell-phone threads).
I can see Jay (of Jay and Silent Bob fame) very briefly having an account in Cafe Society if a Bluntman and Chronic movie ever comes out.
Elizabeth Bennett was the first character to spring to mind for me, too. Come to think of it, her father would probably be even more likely to join up. Both suffered from not knowing many people at their intellectual level, or even many people with any real sense, but Mr. Bennett was more obviously frustrated with the kind of company available to him. He also had a more sarcastic and cynical sense of humor and probably would have really let loose on people here.
As for Lizzie, I imagine she’d contribute thoughtful responses to threads on a variety of subjects, but would be best known for her dryly comic threads about her family (e.g. “Advice from my dear mother”, “In which I am courted by my cousin”) and the occasional MPSIMS dramas (e.g. “My sister has run away”).
It says something about me, and about you as well I suppose, that this last paragraph is one of the very few things I’ve ever read on the Dope that has made me laugh out loud.
I didn’t want to mention them because I began with Ducky, but I think half the NCIS would love and be loved by the SDMB. DiNozzo would be a star in Cafe Society and would quickly get the rep for being more reliable than IMDB for movie trivia. Abby, like Ducky, would own GQ. And McGee would do well in both those forums, and the Game Room as well.
Gibbs, of course, does not own a computer, and Ziva would not see the point of it.
Emily Litella would be perfect responding to somewhat mangled thread topics, “Nevermind”.
She was one of Gilda Radner’s characters on SNL (“What’s wrong with violins in the street?”); respond to a editorial on VIOLENCE in the streets.
Hence the maybe. He’d start some great threads that went to about 100 pages, but then eventually he’d disappear. (Possibly in a mysterious way). He’s also quite well-informed about some things, so he’d participate in various threads and not be immediately written off as a troll.
I’m thinking now about other Jane Austen characters and what their posting styles would be. Mr. Collins would of course be a GD bore who kept citing his patroness Lady C. as an authority on everything. Would Fanny Price meekly lurk, or would she be the type to post a bunch of IMHO and MPSIMS threads with titles like “Am I wrong to take offense at the behavior of my cousins?” and “I admire a gentleman, but cannot tell him so”? Or maybe she’d take advantage of this forum to really let her feelings out, with Pit threads about the evils of amateur theatricals and how a certain lady ('though she hardly deserves the name!) should stop being such a hussy.
I’d submit Dr. Stephen Maturin from the Aubrey-Maturin series. Seems like he’d be the most likely character to be able to learn how to use a computer. He’d also have some pretty awesome stories about plucking bullets out of people. It’d be a bit like hearing Qadgop the Mercotan’s prison doctor stories.
