What games are you looking forward to in 2009?

Please do. **appleciders **has the file right now. The thread is relatively recent.

I’m a little bummed out that the Total Realism mod for TW:MII never came out. I love the TR mod for RTR and I still play that more than even MII.

I agree. I kept waiting to see a thread with you announcing it, but it never came Apparently, there’s a Stainless Steel mod that’s amazing for it. I downloaded it, but couldn’t get it to install.

I’ve been playing Stainless Steel 6.1, and it’s pretty impressive.

God of War 3 for sure. If it comes out.

Diablo 3. Probably won’t but if it does.

That Batman game looks like it could be good.

Uncharted 2 maybe…

This is looking like a weak year for blockbuster games to be honest but I’m sure there will be some sleepers that blow up huge. God of War is probably the biggest sequel that should hit this year. That’s a great series. Most compelling new action game character of the last 2 generations.

I’m hoping Divinity 2 turns out well.

Quick question on this. I looked it up and am downloading 6.0 and the latest patch to 6.1. My question is can I load this if I’ve previously loaded the official expansion (Kingdoms)?

Dammit, how do I get it?

Here is the link. Looks pretty cool so far.

You *have *to have Kingdoms for it to work. That’s part of the appeal - it integrates many of the factions from the expansion (Norway, Ireland, Lithuania, Jerusalem, etc.) into the main map, while drastically increasing the number of territories.

I really like it. Besides tweaking combat to make it slower and more brutal (by lowering damage across the board) one main advantage is that it tries to give each faction its own unique feel, as far as units are concerned - which means you don’t automatically default to Feudal (Foot) Knights, no matter what the faction. Plus, there’s a lot more variety when it comes to mercenaries.

Is there a chance it won’t come out? I mean, has it been pushed back a few times?

It’ll come out. Sony just announced the 2009 release date at the Spike TV Game Awards (previously it had no official release date) and I doubt it’ll be pushed back.

For years I was unable to play my all-time favorite game, Dungeon Keeper 2, due to soundcard issues.

A couple weeks ago when trying to fix other problems, I changed the soundcard settings and lo and behold it fixed my original problem.

Now, once again, I am massively addicted to DK2.

So what do I then discover?

EA sold the rights of the game to a company in China who wants to make it into an MMO exclusively for the China market, for release in the first quarter of 2009.

This will be awesome if a) they preserve the feel and context of the game as much as possible, b) it becomes successful enough for them to decide to c) open it to the US.

I’m scared. :frowning:

…and a little frustrated because it seems that old-school DK2 fans are very few and far between-perhaps because many of us share resentment at how EA treated the Dungeon Keeper franchise with the cancellation of DK3.

I really am looking forward to any significantly different game out there, ‘the first person shooter’ & ‘real time strategy’ wheel of monotony keeps rolling.

East India Company at least looks a little different.
