What gifts have you received so far?

Yesterday, I went in to work to find a gift bag on my desk, from the GM. It contained a nice blue scarf with the station’s logo sewn into the fabric. (I’ll never wear it, we’re several hundreds of miles south of anywhere you need to wear a scarf…) and a high-tech looking travel mug, also with the station’s logo. Now that one, I will use!

A red Elektra bicycle called “The Betty” complete with a leopard skin seat and handlebar grips with leather tassels. My parents gave it to me! It’s one sweet ride…

A Betsey Johnson necklace and matching bracelet. The charms are huge colorful hearts. This is from my husband. I picked it out myself.

A reindeer costume including antlers and a big red nose for my red Mini Cooper. It’s gotten a lot of laughs.

I’m a lucky girl!

A two-disc DVD set of Do Not Adjust Your Set from Shayna and Spiny Norman.

A 1.75mL bottle of Grey Goose from the in-laws (which will help me immensely in the days to come), chocolate and coffee from favorite SiL, and cash money from Grandma and Grandpa. And the yearly gift to ourselves from ourselves: a 19" LCD monitor. The 12 year old SVGA finally died. He’s been a real sport and let me play GuildWars pretty much without end since we got it, though.

A goodie box from the aunt that contained a hand-knitted hat and scarf and some washcloths, a bag of holiday Dove chocolate, a pair of earrings, a box of homemade scones made from my grandmother’s recipe (which my dog snatched from the counter and ate when I was at work yesterday – anyone want a 10 year old Labrador-pit bull mix?), and two jars of homemade strawberry jam.
A goodie box from my sister: 2 bags of dog cookies, two dog toys, assorted chocolates from her local candymaker, a gift certificate to WalMart.
From the co-workers today: Handmade fudge, a mousepad with dogs on it, a candle and mug, and a lovely white shawl, a box of Ghiradelli chocolates; plus (drumroll)
a DVD player and a DVD from my immediate supervisor which I spent this evening installing and trying to figure out how to work!
Oh, and a emergency visit to the dentist which snagged me Friday tooth extraction and a prescription for Vicodin.

So I see a long weekend ahead of me, gumming my chocolate, wrapped up in a shawl and snazzy knitwear, and watching DVDs while high on Vicodin.

Yesterday I rec’d one of the most meaningful gifts! My coworker drew my name in the office gift swap and she made a “when I’m blue” collection which included all sorts of personal pampering items. The most significant thing she included didn’t cost a thing but her time, but brought me to tears instantly. It was a small, star shaped box which she filled with notes from each of my coworkers where they’d written all of the things they like best about me personally and professionally. I get choked up every time I open it.

A battery operated bug zapper that somewhat resembles a small tennis racket. From my beloved sister. Who really couldn’t afford it. I love it.

I envy you. Well, sorta.

I got one of those tower o’ treats things (you know, three candy boxes of various sizes that you stack up) from my aunt and uncle. I was going to regift it like I usually do with candy, but the boxes were so darn pretty, and I just have a thing for useful boxes.

Also, a gift certificate to a nice local restaurant (from my boss) and a magnetic notepad (from a co-worker).

A subscription to Communication Arts (was supposed to be for xmas, but it came in the mail this week), a couple of frame-able prints of ads and a $50 bonus from my bosses. We also got a gift box at work from one of our vendors, which included pens, chocolates, photo frames and notepads.

I got a box of chocolates from my boss and one of the guys who works for me gave me his box of chocolates from my boss.

A gift set that seem to have come from the corner pharmacy.
Candy that seem to have come from a “Hello Kitty” store.
A velor blanket.
A half-eaten cheesecake.
