You lucky duck!
The new mint flavor is very nice.

From a co-worker: A fancied-up bottle of “premium” beer, which I promptly dropped and broke. At least she didn’t see it!
My boyfriend and I exchanged presents before he left for home. I got windshield wipers and a flask hidden in a book he’d cut up himself. I really needed the wipers. I never have the money to maintain my truck, and I’m driving four hours home this weekend and he remembered how poorly my wipers worked. I even talked a cute guy into installing them for me!
Now, my last birthday present was a shotglass. A cool one that he’d had engraved himself, so it was awesome. Now I got a flask hidden in a Nietzsche book. I won’t turn 21 for another 8 months. I’m not a big drinker to begin with, so I told him that if I get another alcohol-related gift within the next 2 years, we’re done because he’s trying to turn me into an alcoholic.
(I think he planned to get it for my birthday but got so excited he wanted to give it now)
Big book at that. eh?
I got an awesome book from a co-worker. It’s The History of Rome by Titus Livius, published in 1861.
Hubby also gave me books, but these were new, purchased from Amazon. I’m sitting here, gazing fondly at my stack of 15 assorted titles and counting myself as one happy camper.
From my family, I recieved an all-expenses-paid trip to Chicago to see the King Tut exhibit at the Field Museum.
It’s been an awesome Christmas and it’s not even over yet.
So far I have just had Christmas at home with Mrs. Small, so far, this is it…
I got several DVDs, which I will now list…
Short Circuit
The Beverly Hillbillies
Pi
Clockwork Orange
Elephant
That’s My Bush series
and some books, The Silver Chair and The Last Battle of the Narnia series, since I have bought the rest up to that point and hadn’t got those two yet.
I also got a pair of fuzzy pants that are plaid - like pajamas. They are really warm and nice.
Plus, Mrs. Small got me the nicest gift of all - a paper shredder trashcan. I think it is so cool!

I haven’t received any actual presents yet (barring the ‘gift’ at the work Xmas party, and that doesn’t count).
But yesterday in my letterbox was a card that read:
:dubious:
Now, I have no idea who lives at No 11, but I was touched to the point of big smiley tears…inside the card, a young child had drawn an intricate snowman with his arms akimbo wishing us a good Xmas and good year ahead.
Y’know, for some funny reason, that card means more to me than the ones I have received from family and friends. Some anonymous kid has taken the time to draw (in multicoloured texta) a funny little snowman, and it just brings a big smile to my face!!
Good pressie…got me into the Christmas spirit at last.
We had my family Christmas this past weekend. My gifts were mostly DVDs:
The Office seasons 1 & 2
Family Guy season 4
Old School Sesame Street Vol. 1
Seinfeld season 7
Kids in the Hall season 4 (which I had to explain to my drunk aunt that it was NOT “Saved by the Bell”)
and a gift certificate for JCPenney
it was a big year… we bought a house! Our gift to one another.
I got the most wonderful glass star ornament from a good friend a few years ago. I managed to get it all the way home before dropping it on the floor. :smack:
Oo, the closest I got to this was at the little Field Museum shop in the …somewhere in the Midwest…airport.
But I did secured this amazing item there. The picture doesn’t do justice to just how glitzy the lame is!
My daughter would love that. (We’re getting her a top hat this year).
Today’s work haul so far: a basket of homemade cookies.
Hee. I gave it my mom and got her and Pop to pose in it (they’re 63). Mom can keep it with her poke bonnet. She took Egyptian in college so I got her the Egyptian pop-up calendar this year (shhh…)
There are three presents sitting on my desk, unopened: two from my sister, and one from my aunt.
A self-present: I ordered for myself the Shadowrun 4th Edition book, for the Shadowrun role-playing game. I don’t actually expect to be playing this, though I wouldn’t mind; I just find it a very interesting world from an artistic standpoint: it has tech and magic mixed in a corporate-ruled future.
I thought when I wrote that I read Shadowrun last year, only a couple people hadn’t stop being interested. A great universe, even if it’s getting to be only maxed out characters any longer.
I volunteer twice a week at the local hospital-yesterday my supervisor at the information desk gave me a lovely Christmas mug, and today from the G.I. lab, I received a gift card for Borders and a box of chocolates.
From co-workers: A little velvet stocking full of candy, a Cracker Barrel tree ornament, and 3 pairs of socks.
At the office Xmas party last night, I got the usual gift card with he $100 bill in it, but my office Secret Santa got me the 4 DVD set of Broadway’s Lost Treasures, “because it’s Broadway and I know you like that stuff.” I’d had that on my list of things to buy at the post-holiday sales.
My husband and I gave ourselves a Gameboy Advance SP and three games.
From my co-worker who drew my name I got a really cool address book and a small “inspire” sign to hang in my office.
From my boss I got some really cool lime-scented soap, an ornament, and a $50 gift card to the local grocery store.
A gift card to Borders from my boss. Yay!
Susan
As I’ve mentioned here, I’m working as a temp right now. I’m not sure if the other people feel sorry for me or what, but I’ve received gifts from 4 people. Yesterday the office manager took us out to lunch(Okay fine, it was just Applebee’s) for two hours). And the Christmas cards are in the mail so there’s once again absolutely nothing to do.
