What happened to My Name is Earl?!

Any ideas? When I tuned in, all I saw was a rerun of the first episode for season 2. Please dont’ tell me it got canceled

MNIE has definitely NOT been cancelled; NBC just had all their Thursday shows on re-run for some reason. I enjoyed watching it, btw, since I had missed it on the first go 'round.

World Series

I watched last weeks episode (Van Hickey) from my DVR and found that the first 6 minutes and change were the audio from My Name is Earl over a freeze frame of NBC news anchor Brian Williams.

I thought at first it was kind of a bold choice, and they must have been afraid that no one would get it, but I haven’t noticed any outcry over it.

November sweeps starts next week. Relax. They’re taking a break (Law and Order SVU was also a repeat) before gearing up for ratings period.

I read that they’re going to be super-sizing those eps to 40 minutes, so if you’re recording, take note.

What does the network usually do with the leftover 20 minutes?

I think The Office is being supersized too. That’s 80 minutes. If they supersize a third half-hour show, it’d come out to an even two hours. Or will they supersize ER too? I think they did this last season, but I don’t remember how it came out.

This is probably a ridiculous concern. But what’s up with the continuity on this show?

In the Y2K episode (which I only recently watched) we saw that Darnell is actually a man named Harry Monroe who moved to Camden County as part of the witness protection program.

But in the series pilot, we were told that Darnell was living with his parents and in the episode where he married Joy we saw his Moms and other family members.

My Name Is Earl won several Emmy Awards; it’s here for at least another season, if not several.

Maybe a future epsiode will be “#167 Revealed Crabman was in the witness protection program on a national television.”

They are going to run a supersized episode of 30 Rock.

I know that when I find out that a hit TV series is showing a rerun, my first thought is “I can’t believe they cancelled it!”
