I once got 600 and some messages from a mailing list that I belong to in a 16 hour period.
40000+. I did it myself on purpose. I was testing a software feature I had written that would send emails to customers. However, for testing purposes, I changed the email addresses to my own.

One day I got 1400 new emails that were all the same piece of junk mail. Next day I had 800 more of the same.
Maybe 10 or so a day.
Around 150 once when I didnt check for about a week.
