California.
Democrat.
Moderate-to-liberal, though I really can’t understand how anyone can be truly conservative and sleep at night…
Oregon
Obstructionist(if one Party controls the Congress, I’ll vote the other Party for President)
Arizona
Democrat (Like mblackwell, at the time I chose my party, the state I reside in had a closed primary system.)
Middle-of-the-road (perhaps ever-so-slightly left-leaning).
Victoria, Australia
Of the two major parties in my country, probably Labor (similar to the Democrats in the US)
Liberal
Hawaii
Democratic ('cause I need to pick something)
Fairly liberal
Hm…so far, liberals and left-leaners seem to be dominating. Is the SDMB really skewed that way, or are all our good conservative friends boycotting this thread??
C’mon, people of every philosophy, stand up and be counted!!!
Alberta, Canada
NDP/NPD
Hard left.
Arizona
Democrat
democratic socialist
Indiana
Democrat
Semi-Liberal
Florida
No party affiliation, tho I was Rep in the past
Moderate - compromise can be your friend…
Reminds me of a line from a truly wonderful mini-series from the BBC called A Very British Coup - a left wing Labour Prime Minister (the very antithesis of Tony Blair… but that is another rant entirely) says “I tried standing in the middle, once. I got hit by traffic going in both directions.”
Registered to vote in MA (but go to school in NY).
I’m not a fan of political parties, and voted Nader last time to express that. I suppose left-wing Democrats are closest to my political agenda.
Slightly left on economics/very left on social issues.
Maryland.
Registered Democrat but often vote Green.
Mostly left-leaning.
Ontario, Canada
Don’t belong to a political party, never would.
Socially liberal, economically conservative, generally speaking.
I think we’ve just found the perfect philosophy.
Really, I’m in awe.
Me?
The Old Dominion of Virginia
No real party affiliation. Maybe Libertarian but their representatives are the worst PR in the world.
Social liberal beyond the dreams of Ralph Nader. Equal rights, equal opportunity, all enshrined in the glory that is the phrase, “Equal Justice Under Law”.
but
Fiscally conservative enough to make Pat Buchanan write checks to Amnesty International in sympathy.
Sydney, Australia
No party affiliation (What if my party were to be heaven forbid wrong about something?).
Generally ever so slightly right of centre, with large dollops of left thrown in, depending on the issue. A tree hugging fascist, if you will.
Ohio, but not for long
Green Party all the way.
I used to write in Dick Gregory for president. He seems pretty Green to me.
I am to the left of the political chart. I’ve alwasys admired Abbie Hoffman so I cannot call myself a conservative!
