What is Trump's current health?

I had found that website, and that’s why I wondered if it was actually documented, instead of just reported. Perhaps it could be a cover for when he takes long naps, or gets infusions of whatever (wasn’t “speech prep” Reagan era code for a nap?)

Then again, given that somebody tried to shoot him while he was on the golf course, I can also see why access is very restricted.

Regardless, I do wonder how well the out of shape octogenarian hits a ball these days. It’s certainly not unprecedented for a man of his age to continue to play golf.

I know that, in a lot of cases, the press sees motorcades going to and from the golf courses. But, I have no idea how well-documented it is if he’s actually playing, especially lately.

I can imagine that he goes out there and grunts his way through three or four holes (kicking the ball along the way) before heading home.

And just like with driving his car over the newly paved reflecting pool, Trump ignores convention and drives his cart onto the green. It barely qualifies as physical activity.

I’ve seen photos of him in golf clothes at the beginning of this month, when he supposedly “disappeared” for a week (though his whereabouts in that time were documented and included some official meetings he attended with staff). So, there is relatively recent evidence.

On the other hand, he looked like crap to me in the golf photos. Probably because his makeup team hadn’t spent 2 hours working on him with special effects like he was playing an alien cameo on a Star Trek show.

He’s definitely suffered a stroke or two. There’s no question from the half-droopy face when he dozes off.

Forgive what seems like a boring answer even to me.

The truth will come out pretty quickly after he’s dead. But falsehoods will also continue to come out. So it will take a decade or two until a mainstream academic comes we can trust comes out with a definitive book with a title like “Trump and His White House Physicians.”

This assumes the U.S., at that time, has academic freedom. If not, there will be good Trump biographies written outside the U.S., but they may not be detailed enough to say much about his illnesses.

[aside] Currently the polio diagnosis is disputed based on age of onset and symptoms; the competing theory is Guillian-Barre Syndrome:

Interesting! Plus the heavy responsibility of the Presidency (4 terms, 2 of which we were at war, plus the Depression etc) in which having a chronic condition would further have weakened his health (did from all appearances).

What about FDR’s two packs of camels a day?

I think the evidence for that lowering life expectancy is far greater than the worked-yourself-to-death hypothesis.

I found a few articles on working oneself to death. Here’s one:

If you go by the ideas in my last link, I think Trump has little to worry about in this area. But I’m skeptical of the idea that the heavy duties of the presidency cause death. You could also say that having power reduces stress.

One reason presidents are living longer is they stopped smoking cigarettes. But given the small sample size of presidents, the increasing length of presidential life could also be a coincidence.

That life expectancy overall has gone up over the decades especially for those of high SES and college educated or above. Actuarially an 80 year old married non-smoker college graduate of top SES percentiles can expect to live another ten to dozen years. Trump has the confounder of obesity and a crappy diet so maybe less.
