I used to play UO for a while back in the day, but the PvP/PK atmosphere really turned me off to it. Otherwise it was a great game. I played AC for a little bit too, but was pretty much totally un-impressed. If I ever play an MMORPG again, it’ll be either Origin, or Horizons. Those both look ultima-swchway.
EverQuest I just never liked. Everyone runs at the same speed, it’s zoned, and when I played, everything was always camped to you know what. It did have banks tho’ didn’t it? I maybe played EQ for two days.
No, speed depends on race, agility/dexterity, and how much crap you’re carrying. My husband and I are both high elves and I can ALWAYS outrun him. Some stuff is camped, but not always and not everywhere. Also some servers are much busier than others. Yes it has banks. How long ago did you play it?
Only two, both on the Tholuxe Paells(sp?) server. Had a lvl 18 Wood Elf Ranger, but don’t play him anymore. Currently have Inik, a lvl 7 Gnome Magician. Only been playing a couple of months. Very addicting.
I’ve gone through two phases of being addicted to EQ, but I’ve finally kicked the habit for good (knocks on wood…). The major problem I have with it, is that you have to dedicate so much time to it, that it’s almost like having a second job. I was playing a Dwarven Paladin that I got up to 16th level and an Iksar Monk that was 10th, but I finally gave up the habit before my g/f held an intervention for me.
Simony, a 42nd level HE cleric (so far I am the winner!)
Futanda, 8 level human monk (just started)
Bunch of low level secondaries that are never going anywhere (the monk will).
On Bertox:
Simony 16th level cleric
On Brell:
A 19th level cleric I will never play again, and in fact if anyone wants her stuff just say so.
I don’t play EverCrack so much anymore, having obtained a New Job™. Still, every so often you can find me playing my High Elf Enchanter Qixotica on the E’ci server.
Since I don’t have much time to do that anymore though, usually I just hop on UO, since I can feel like I have accomplished something when I can only play for a half-hour or so.
Test Server -
Tvarin Human Warrior level 11
Efutoo Dark elf Necro level 4
Anoid Dark elf Necro level 4
I think all of my higher level chars have some twinkage, most are from drive-bys.
Baltin got a Chrystlized Shadow dagger from a DE Necro that was feeling generous.
Toli got most of his Splitpaw armor from someone who was quitting the game he just started stripping and handing it to me.
Tvarin is my first Char and has been power leveled by the evil person that got me hooked on the game.
Myself I have a 12th Human Pali I never play anymore, and a 20th halfling rogue. Both are on erollisi marr, Pali was twinked, the rogue was not.
I absolutely love playing when I can. I have found Evercrack is a lot more fun when you rollplay your chara. Its amazing how hard it can be to get a dirk out of the back of an orc…
I’m on the Telavarious oh whatever spelling… server
Pathwalker 14th level human monk
Granmeth 10th level troll shaman
Mephistophiles 6th level erudite wizard
I’m thinking about really cutting back my playing time. The worst thing is to have friends who play all the time because then you try and catch your character up to theirs so you can group. I just can’t keep up anymore so I think I’m going to give up. I’ve also noticed that the game can become very dull. Pull monster kill. Pull monster kill. It takes too long to level. It takes too long to travel anywhere. It’s too difficult to bring together a diverse group when you first start the game. Everything about the game is designed to suck up your time. It can be fun with a good group that has decides to set out on a mission but good groups can be hard to find sometimes.
And used to be a guide on Tarew and Drinal. Haven’t played since November tho. Upper levels are a real drag, and boring as hell. And spending over an hour looking for a group is not my idea of fun. Especially when you can port yourself anywhere.

Play on Rallos for a night or two, its never boring at low levels. Just remember, never trust anyone. Nektolous sucks for newbies, I think Freeport is just as bad. Faymart is the same as Nek, a lot of grief players there just to kill newbies.
If you play PvP Teams, Nek is great for starting out. Your close enough to the humans to attack, but they hardly ever come into Nek to attack the newb’s. Misty thicket is really good if you are just starting to play, I got to level nine before I saw another team. FayMart is always crawling with Gnomes and Halfling PK’ers. I imagine that Ogguk and Grobb are pretty safe too.
Sqrlcub has several players but his main one is Transya. Level 41 or something like that. He is in Houston this week and without access so he may be going thru withdrawal right now.
