What is your favorite movie of all time?

Doctor Zhivago

Catch Me If You Can. It’s not the best movie, but it’s good. I like the acting, and the story resonates with me, partially because I like stories that follow thieves/con men and partially because I have some real life connections to Frank Abagnale.

Out of the Past - 1947

I really liked that one movie where there was action and really good dialog. And then a bit of romance with F/X that served to enhance the whole things, instead of detract from it. And the way the whole thing came together at the end? That just made the whole thing worth it.

What? :confused::D:p

I’ll have to third Blade Runner.

But I DID pick only one!

It just so happened that there were bunch of others I wanted to, nay, had to mention in the next breath.

That is quite a good movie.

You make your money in the legal system, don’t you?

I’d sit down right now and happily watch most of those mentioned. But nobody is going to say mine, so I will: Pulp Fiction.

Indeed I do! How did you know…?

No, Eve really is a professional movie reviewer. She had a column for Movieline magazine.

The Blues Brothers.

I love the music, I love the stunts, and I still laugh out loud every time I see the Nazis’ Pinto fall from a 1500-foot high construction site.

Note that you didn’t ask for the best movie of all time (which I concede TBB is not), you asked for my favorite. I watch this film over and over and never get tired of it.

You can’t take my movie from me, I’ll not let you.

You can have my movie when you pry it from my . . . Hey! I’m kidding! Take it! Take it! Put the gun away!

‘The Big Sleep.’

‘Casablanca’ is an all-time great, but ‘Sleep’ is the one i pop in the DVD player when I’ve had a bad day.

I’m going with Blade Runner after thinking hard about it. The Godfather is the main competitor in my thoughts. I think Face Intentionally Left Blank helped to persuade me, but if I have to pick one to watch again, most often it’s Blade Runner. Hauer makes that movie for me.

On the Waterfront.

I decided The Matrix supplanted Field of Dreams a few years back (which supplanted Back to the Future)… but Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind keeps closing on the outside.

Stalag 17

Ach, so…

It’s not hard to forget how great this movie was. It doesn’t get enough replay for the younger crowd to realize how effective it was.

Holden carries it, no doubt. But how would it have been without Graves?
