My favorite song has been Don McClean’s American Pie for many many years. No idea why.
The song I’m currently listening to over and over:
Her Black Wings by Danzig.
Previous one:
Thrift Shop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Wut wut? Wut wut?
You sure any song goes? Well, alright then. Time for you to be indulged in music that’s not in the english language.
This is A Doll’s Voice. It’s a Japanese song (which was actually written based off a book by Chinese. Good grief!)
The person singing isn’t a human (sort of), It’s a synthesizer. These singing synthesizers are called VOCALOIDS. You can read more about them here.
“The Flintstones Meet the President” by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Goofy fun, and I just love that bass line.
“Favorite” on the radio, that is, happens to be Royal by Lorde
sorry cant link, I am technically still in the dark ages when it comes to embedding stuff.
Thanks you all. Really eclectic tastes (with more metal than I would have thought). Not surprisingly, I was surprised. Even more than I expected. I sort of assumed that all songs would at least be sung by humans, for instance.
Bring 'em on!
I’ve gotten rather fond of Melanie Fiona’s Bang Bang.
As a small change of pace, there’s Band of Horses’ The Funeral.
Good for getting rid of ear worms is Sly Bastard’s version of 7 Nation Army.
I prefer the less finished (as in pre-record contract) version of Scars on 45’s Give Me Something, but I’m not sure its findable anymore. This is pretty good.
If you want something booming through your bass, you can’t really beat Kodo’s O-Daiko.
Eerie and lovely, Hang Massive’s Double Hang Action. (Yes, it’s another Hang piece.)
Love Me Right by the Swag Geeks is sooo saxy
Sweater Weather by the Neighbourhood entrances me.
Timber by Pitbull http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHESy8XsJPs
After listening to the new M.I.A. album, my new favorite song is Bring the Noize.
And I’ll cast a third vote for Pitbull and Ke$ha’s Timber. Just to make sure it wins this thread.
And Ke$ha! (see post 9)
My favorite song so far this year is “Wake Me Up” by Avicii and Aloe Blacc.
I usually don’t like this type of music, but the lyrics got me right in the feels.
Hey, me too!
Because it’s There - Michael Hedges (RIP) — something new age
Batuka- Santana — something borrowed from multiple music styles
Riviera Paradise - Stevie Ray Vaughan (RIP) — something blue
and if need something old school
Boom Boom - John Lee Hooker
Just at the moment, I’ve got The Red Paintings’ “You’re Not One of Them” in my head.
One of these:
“Beneath Your Beautiful” - Labrinth ft. Emili Sande
“Atmosphere” - Kaskade
“Versace” - Drake
