What is your most child-like food?

Little Debbie snack cakes. Right now I have Swiss Rolls in the pantry, but I buy different kinds.

I’m sure it’s not the same thing, but I recently purchased these, which were a favorite of mine as a kid

Many would say my entire diet is childlike; I regularly eat most of things already mentioned. How about chicken fingers, or more specifically, chicken Mcnuggets.

Gotta be ‘flavor blasted.’ Why can’t other foods be flavor blasted…

I will occasionally buy a box of chocolate flavored animal crackers for snacking on. I can pretend they’re for the grandkids, but they’re really for me.

Also, mini ice cream sandwiches.

Also animal-related for me: Iced circus cookies and the plain animal crackers that come in the circus box.

Superman ice cream

These are not the same thing.

Iced Zoo biscuits aren’t animal-shaped. They have an iced animal sillhouette, preferably only barely-recognizeable, on a rectangular iced biscuit.

Yes, I know. But both types include animal shapes, they’re vanilla, and they’re kid food, so some things in common.

Ramen noodles, the 5-packages-for-a-dollar style, though that originally dates back more to college than childhood.

(bolding mine)
The sublimest combo is a PB & J with spicy flavored potato chips. Use the chips to scoop up the jelly that falls out of the sandwich onto the plate. Oh yeah.

I absolutely loved Chef-Boy-R-Dee canned ravioli as a pre-teen child, I wanted to live off of it. Somewhat later we somehow ended up with a case of the Chef’s canned spaghetti and meatballs that I still like eat once in a while, but the ravioli doesn’t do anything for me anymore.

Those look lovely! And they are barely recognizable. I can make out the spring bok and the birds but what kind of creature is the blue one?

I used to love Beef-a-roni when I was a kid. I tried it as an adult - BLECH! But I prefer Kraft Mac and Cheese in a box to so-called “gourmet” baked mac and cheese. It’s creamy and delicious! I will make homemade stovetop mac & cheese when I’m out of Kraft.

Peanut butter and butter sandwiches, no jelly, made with huge slabs of Kerrygold butter. We didn’t have Kerrygold when I was a kid, but we did have Land O Lakes. And seeded rye bread.

Hey I’ve had those! When I was in the army, stationed at Ft Stewart Georgia, had a 1SG from Puerto Rico who ordered those in from…somewhere I don’t know all the time. They were great. (One benefit to being 1SG’s driver, yummy treats)

My kid food? Used to be peanut butter mixed with “maple syrup” in a coffee mug and eaten with a spoon, but now it’s just peanut butter on a spoon. I quit liking the taste of “maple” flavored corn syrup and I don’t think real maple syrup would work in that confection.

Lucky Charms.

To replicate my kindergarten Saturday mornings, I eat them while watching early Black & White Superman episodes.

Keebler Deluxe Fudge Grahams. Had to keep them in the fridge. My mom had a strict 2 cookie per person rule, us kids would plot and scheme around it. And Oreos, the pantry was always stocked with Oreos. My lil sis once ate the middles out of all the Oreos and left the chocolate wafers. My mom never let her live that one down!

Honey Smacks - sugar rush in a bowl. I still get a craving for them even in my 40’s.

Also, I have been known to gank my kids freezie supply, “Really, there aren’t any left? Are you sure? We’ll have to get some more then I guess.”

I think it’s supposed to be a bear.

Grilled cheese. A few slices of American Cheese, some bread, fried low and slow until it’s golden brown.
