What’s the address of this “Left Behind Message Board?”

I have posted quite a few times on your site, in recent months, under the handle ‘nightmare.’ I have done my best to conduct myself as a Christian, both here and there. My purpose in posting on your site was to attempt to engage in genuine dialogue. tomndebb’s post, above, sums up my experience there fairly well. When your regular posters were routinely using Scripture, not to enlighten, but as a means of giving out backhanded insults, where were you? When Thomas was repeatedly yelling at me, so to speak, demanding to know whether I’d accepted Jesus, where were you? (Did the regulars admonish him for his hostility, bad temper, and loss of control? Only after I did, and I waited until he had gone to excess upon excess.)
Paul says in Galatians that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Jesus says in the Gospels that we shall know them by their fruits. By that standard, God’s children are already posting here, much more than there, so you don’t need to sic your legions on us. Rather, you should look to your own site.
But perhaps you should do a bit of lurking here, to see how the heathen (and a handful of Christians as well) debate issues in an intense and spirited manner, but with (for the most part, anyway) a great deal of respect for the views of the people they are arguing with, not to mention a much greater level of respect for the persons with whom they debate. While I won’t say we totally avoid the ad hominem jibe here, it’s far from the staple it is on the LBMB.
I don’t know if I will continue posting to the LBMB, but I expect that I will continue to have conversations with my more conservative brethren and sistern in various places. I am concerned by what passes for truth in places like the LBMB, and equally concerned about what passes for love. I will continue to attempt to bring light into the dark places, no matter what name they go by.

Because, everyone knows if people who use one message board post on a second, it couldn’t possibly be because those people wish to actually contribute to the discussions taking place on the second message board. They only wish to “infiltrate” the second board and then do hideous unspeakable things there. And, of course, the users of the second message board must immediately do their utmost to harrass and inconvenience all users of the first message board, for daring to associate with those who don’t confine themselves to a single Internet site.
Isn’t that the same threat the Small Wonder site made?

I am alittle confused that you think maybe this is a “free-for-all” board.
We are there to learn, to teach and to Glorify God.
I have never once been treated wrong for beinging Jewish. So what’s your problem?

I have also posted on the LBMB in recent months under the screenname “Briana.” And I agree with everything Tom and RT have posted here. Where were the admins when Thomas was berating me for not being “his” kind of Christian? Where were they when people left because they no longer felt comfortable posting there?
And to add on to Tom’s post…where was your Christianity when you LIED about where certain threads had gone? If according to you, I am not a Christian, then so be it. I am perfectly fine with that, and I would bet a majority of the other Christians on this board would agree with me.
Shoshanna, Rabbi Sam and another poster whose name I forget have both been harried with catcalls. “Carmen Lardent” shut down several of his recent threads with multiple single-line posts.
(I will concede that today, a week after this started, I have finally seen the administrators take steps to prevent this.)

Sho, it’s hard sometimes to point to evidence when it keeps disappearing as fast as it does. But I’ve seen the Jews referred to more than once on the LBMB as the ones who killed Christ, not as a piece of history, but in the sense of ‘your people, not ours, were the ones that killed God.’ And I must say there was zero outrage from the LBMB regulars.
mbagnall, you and yours are the enemies of reason. You are a menace to society.
For all I know, you may well be the agents of Satan himself. He’s very devious, don’t you know. It would be just like him to pull a stunt like this.

To any of the Left Behind folks still here, and to their administration, I offer my apology for my participation in this mess. It was never our intention to attack or to spam or anything like that. As others have noted, this was an attempt to enlighten, misguided as that attempt may have been. I participated in this without the knowledge of any member of the SDMB administration – today was the first they’d heard of any of this, and they were not happy about it, to put it mildly. As a moderator here, I should have considered that my participation would reflect poorly on this message board, The Straight Dope, and The Chicago Reader. I did not really think about it. As has been noted by others, I went in as an individual, representing nobody but myself. Still, I apologize for any poor reflection on others that this may have caused.
I will do my best to make sure nothing like this ever happens again, and I certainly will not participate in anything like it in the future.
That said, I think the new year is a good time to put this behind us and move on.

Unfortunately, I don’t think mbagnall stayed around to read tomndebb’s criticism of his reprehensible adminning.
There is a class of BBS administrator/chatroom operator out there who gravitates toward these positions, not so much because he enjoys the company a BBS or chatroom can provide, as because he wants to make the BBS or the chatroom “his”. He wants to play God. I fear that mbagnall falls into this category.
As for lazerith, I wouldn’t worry too much about this particular paranoid wacko. He is the one who started, and continued to fuel, the LBMB thread about why the Mondex debit card chip is unquestionably, undeniably the Mark of the Beast we’ve all been waiting for. (He even proclaimed it was a vindication of Christian faith in the coming apocalypse!)
The truth, as always, is more complicated than that.

The truth is rough sometimes, aint’it?
One thing that I’ve learned in my 26 years on this earth is this: People hate to hear the truth if they’re not living it. That’s why so many people refute Christians so much. (By the way, this is just as Jesus said would happen: Matthew 24:9, Mark 13:9, Luke 21:12 and John 15:18.) I don’t get upset when someone tries to persecute Christians, as so many people have been doing lately (I’m referring to the entire world, not just this BB). I know that this is all just part of God’s great Plan.

I have been here, SDMB, for a while. I make no secret of my faith. I have often said that you are not being judged by anyone who posts on this board, or any other. There is no judge of your soul but Jesus.
I will remain here, at SDMB, and continue to speak without shame, of my faith. I do not wish to judge anyone. I would ask those who came to the board from LBMB a question.
Did what you do here bring anyone to the message of our Lord? Could your acts have hardened their hearts? Do you speak to them as you would to our Lord? Do you hope to be greeted by Him as you have greeted these, His children on the Earth?

AuntiePam, from what I’ve been reading all day on a couple of different threads, we Christians ARE being fed to the lions, figuratively speaking. Hence, persecution. Anyway, Jesus told us that it would happen! And that was nearly 2000 years ago!
