She was in charge of a United Nations run displaced persons center in Germany after the war – she was no Pollyanna. I’d like to see something like Ask the person who grew up in an orphanage.
I adopted two children from an orphanage in Russia, and I was wondering how it was like for the kids who never got adopted, and lived their entire childhood in an orphanage.
I would love to see: Ask the person who works in a burn unit. To me, debridement of the wounds of a severely burned child would damn near kill me. I would like to know how they do it.
Ask the person who works in a brewery would be a fun thread.
As would, Ask the guy who stole your lunch out of the break-room.

To satisfy my curiosity & either confirm (-or- disprove) those hunches, “Ask the moderator of TPTSNBN”.
I’ve sometimes considered starting an “Ask the (soon-to-be) Sociologist” thread, but I can’t imagine that I’m the only person here with such a generic degree track.
I’ve always wanted to see an “Ask the Military Recruiter” thread, as well as an “Ask the Intersex Person” thread. I imagine serious problems with both, though.
Your wish will be answered soon enough. I am about to become an intersex person.
Er, I meant a recruiter for the Army. I will start a thread as soon as I do.

There was one. Badge seems to have let his subscription lapse. I don’t feel like making one. I answer questions as they come up.
There is at least one other military recruiter on the Dope. There was also at least one submariner here. Can’t remember the names.
I have thought about starting an "ask the architect’ thread, but I was worried I would get busy and not return to it, or that nobody have any questions! 
Hmm… I could do ‘‘Ask the Nietzsche Fanatic’’ or ‘‘Ask the Atheist Who Once Performed an Excorcism as a Pentecostal Christian,’’ but beyond that, I’m not sure I have much unique experience.
I’d love an ‘‘Ask the Kid Who Grew Up in an Orphanage’’ thread. My grandmother grew up in an orphanage, and never expressed any anger or angst over it whatsoever.
Also, ‘‘Ask the former Scientologist’’ would be great.
