What kind of car would you drive if money were no object?

Pretty swank; looks like Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 had carnal knowledge of an old Datsun Fairlady Roadster.

Yes, very much.

The Greyhound predates the DB5 (and externally identical DB4), though- it was designed in 1957 and entered production in 1959.

I like small cars. I like simple lines.

And there’s an actual chance I will own one once I have enough money to own a car just to have fun with.

Or a Corvette: http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/images/2009-corvette-zr1/2009_corvette_zr1_35.jpg

Mmmmmmmm.

There are many cars I would like if money was no object, everything from Range Rovers to McLaren F1,but it would have to be a any Rolls Royce.

Apart from the actual pleasure of driving around in one you get total respect from everyone,it shows that you’ve “arrived” more then any other Limo on earth,it shows that you’ve got taste, not just money.

Oh, I dunno. Anything desinged for the express purpose of saying the owner has taste, is IMO pretty tasteless. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s only because the houses in Belize, Aspen, Rio, and Milan aren’t mobile. When you’re slumming in your sweats, nobody knows you’re rich.

I’d drive exactly the same one I’m driving now, just in a newer model.

THe Ford P71 platform (Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, Lincoln Towncar) is my all time favorite car design: Plenty of power and responsiveness, great handling and an exceptionally smooth, comfortable ride.

My current version is a 2001 Marquis. Given my choice, I’d take an 08 Crown Victoria with the full options package.

I don’t think they’re making the Crown Vics any more except for fleet sales. How about a Mercury Marauder? http://media.motortopia.com/files/2969/vehicle/4597f74bbbb49/IMG_0159.jpg

A chrysler?

(Based on today’s news)

A car or a company?

Great handling?

A standard Crown Vic weighs 4200 lbs., and handles like it weighs more. Predictable handling =/= “good” handling.

My parents own a 2007 Crown Vic. I fucking hate EVERYTHING about this car. Yuck. I feel like the dashboard is just waiting to cut me in half in a 25 mph collision.

You buy it because you like it and if you like it then you’ve got taste and if you’ve got taste then other people tend to recognise that fact(unless they themselves are lacking in taste of course)so just by buying something you really, really like you get the added bonus of respect.

Buy a Cadillac and people will know that you’ve got money but the fact is that they are well tacky.

The only way that your argument could hold water would be if there was no such thing as genuine esthetic taste, which for some people is true but they’re usually easily recognisable by the way that they dress.
