What kind of dog am I?

We rescued him around 18 months ago. I thought he might be Italian Greyhound, hence the name “Iggy.”
But as he has grown up (he’s maybe 15 lbs. now), I’m less sure of that. Probably a mix, maybe Greyhound + ?
He looks like a Toy Fox Terrier, but the ears are wrong.

He’s had a hard life, and his jaw was broken, hence the rakish one-tooth underbite.

Some sort of pitbull-lab-chihuahua mix?

Well, I do not know what kind of dog you’ve got there, beowulff, but I enjoyed the pictures.
We also have an Iggy who is a smallish mostly black dog with cantilevered ears, and he gets his way in all things.

A lot of rat terrier mixes have mainly black coats. Lots of rat terriers have been bred with chihuahuas and Jack Russells.

This is exactly what I was going to say. Iggy has the face of a chihuahua, the ears of a Jack Russell, and legs of a rat terrier.

Yep. I see chihuahua right away. Rat terrier is a good guess. Other small, slim terriers possible. No pit bull, for sure.

You can get a kit to do a DNA test of your dog if you want a definitive answer.

First of all, thanks for all the guesses.
I’ve heard of the DNA testing, but I’m really not that invested in the question. I just wondered if anyone could identify him just by looks.

He’s a really good dog. Very protective of the house - barks whenever he hears someone outside.

I see chihuahua and maybe some kind of terrier or miniature pinscher. His body shape is all wrong for an Italian Greyhound, but I can see why you’d think that before he grew into it.

I also see a little WC Fields in the second picture.

A Classic Cannardly.

My immediate thoughts went to miniature pinscher and/or chihuahua. He looks a fair bit like family pictures of Tiny, my great grandmother’s min pin.

He was found, badly injured, wandering the mean streets of west Phoenix by my wife.
Whatever mix he is - he’s a tough little dog.

Agree

I’ve had a Rat Terrier. They are amazing dogs.

I was looking for a nice Rat but ended up with Jack Russell. It’s hard to get anything but a Rat mix. You can get one new from the dog factory but I’m only interested in used dogs.

You know what they say?
All Rat Terriers are feists.
But, not all feists are Rat Terriers.

A good dog.

Indeed. People are not generally aware that the word ‘feisty’ originated to describe the behavior of feists. If you ever lived with one you’d understand that immediately. Max certainly wasn’t a pure bred Jack Russell, but even old and sick when we brought him home from the pound he was still plenty feisty. When his adopted brother Duke came to live with us, more than 3 times Max’s size, Max immediately bit him on the tail. Luckily his teeth couldn’t pierce Jello.
