Right now, my only hobby is in my username:
ETA : Well, I guess if you include reading and The Dope and stuff, there’s more than just that…
Joe
Reading (Some sci-fi and fantasy, history fact and fiction and more and more often - biographies. For some reason, I’ve really gotten in to James Thurber lately.)
Gaming (mostly Paranoia and Warhammer 40K)
Any kind of pen and paper puzzles (crosswords, sudoku, crypto-quips etc)
I do a bit of target shooting.
I like fishing and a lot of things that come with it. Kayaking, hiking and collecting fishing rods, reels, and lures. But, while I do enjoy hiking, it’s only a way to fish somewhere a little more isolated. I think it could really be something I enjoy on it’s own if I was in better shape though.
I used to do a fair bit of fly tying and that’s pretty much the only art type thing I’ve ever done or been halfway decent at. Unfortunately, having to deal with all those feathers and hairs makes it a very messy hobby. I quit doing it because of the mess. Those things get EVERYWHERE.
In the winter, since fishing is generally a lot slower then, I play computer games.
Care to elaborate?
I did belly dance for many years, and would like to start again. It’s been about three and a half years since my last class. I miss it.
Mountain biking is the main one. I live in Scotland which is a great place for it - awesome outdoor landscape and unique land access laws.
Play bridge most weeks at the club and online.
Used to do a lot of hill walking in the Scottish Highlands with my wife, but we’ve not done much since we started a family - really miss it. We do some low level stuff with the wee man in a backpack but it’s not the same as getting up on the Munros. Something I hope to come back to when the kids are older.
Astronomy - taking a telescope or 2 to the country & exploring
Birdwatching/photo
Flying - rarely/$$$
Geocaching - kids love it
Motorcycling
Photography
Scuba diving
Shooting - paper, not animals
They say I’m lazy, but these take all my time!
I regularly DM tabletop RPGs.
I play wargames (Warhammer Fantasy & 40k).
I read fiction (currently reading Song of Ice & Fire).
I love movies and I’m something of a film buff.
I game (*finally *played The Ballad of Gay Tony).
I [del]troll[/del] post on the Dope.
It’s exactly what you think, except I’m not a stripper (not that there’s anything wrong with being a stripper. Some of my best friends are strippers. :D). There’s a chrome stripper pole in my living room and I work out on it every single day. For free. My BF doesn’t tip much.
If you were my Facebook friend, you could see photographic evidence.
Hobbies? I’ve got a 3 year old. I’m lucky to find time to take care of the necessities!
Tease.
Photographic evidence of a stripper pole in your house or photographic evidence of you dancing on a stripper poll in your house?
Or photographic evidence of your boyfriend tipping poorly?
Aaaaaaaand that’s what I learned from the strippers.
Knitting.
Gardening.
Tap-dancing.
I don’t consider reading a hobby, more a lifestyle choice.
I forgot to mention beer snobbery.
I make postcards and comics.
I’m away from home for several months, but when I get back, I will resume playing videogames. I also ordered the Dark Eldar (WH40k) codex, so I’ll be able to dust off my old army and get back into that.
My new hobby is photography. I have a very ordinary point-and-shoot, but I do my best. I’m trying to be as good as I can with what I’ve got before I upgrade to something fancier. I like to go on walks and take pictures.
I also knit and write and attempt to complete my master’s degree, a quest that has so far been so unsuccessful that it is reaching hobby status. (I’m only missing one class, but getting it completed is making me crazy.) I used to read a lot, but then I went to grad school and destroyed my brain.
