Try fly tying with a cat around. They go insane for feathers and deer hair. I keep the door closed and the cat outside when I tie flies in my study, or else he will jump onto the desk and drag off all my materials.
I like tying divers and wool sculpins. Here’s a bass sculpin I did last fall, before and after trimming.
I just finished a diploma, which was less of a hobby and more of an obsession and in any case leads to a career, so with all my new free time I’ve started the following:
Reading (for fun!)
Hot yoga
Cycling
Some people might not count it, but my main leisure activity is TV. I absolutely love it and it makes me very happy indeed. I like to follow certain programmes and learn about the making of…I’ll watch almost anything. Despite complaints of so many channels and nothing on - well, I only have UK freeview with about 30 channels and there is almost always something that intrigues me.
[ul][li]I’m an aspiring jazz singer, and I spend a lot of time on related activities: voice lessons, workshops, performances, going out to hear live jazz, etc.[/li][li]I play the piano (though not as often as I used to).[/li][li]I read (all kinds of things).[/li][li]I don’t think having a dog can really be called a hobby, but I like hanging out with mine and taking her places. :)[/li][li]Like Lo-Slung Denim, I watch a lot of TV (and movies at home).[/li][/ul]
Nice! I usually stuck to mostly trout and panfish flies but I did tie some bigger wooley buggers and various streamers from rabbit and squirrel hair. Weighted streamers made from rabbit hair, especially when it absorbs water, is a pain to cast though.
I spent last night looking for some pictures but the forum I had posted them on lost them after some sort of database error/crash.
Guitar - playing (for fun and for $ in a band), geeking out on gear
Hot Yoga

Philosophy
Hanging Out / Posting on the Dope - just normal posting, and sometimes via more ambitious posts where I try to work through my thoughts on music and guitar playing
