What movie is this scene from? Timecop related

Sat down to watch Timecop with Jean Claude Van Damme today (kept swiping the cookies, the swine) which I haven’t seen since its release in 1994(!), watched the first thirty minutes before being called away elsewhere but that was enough time to realise that a scene I thought was part of this movie actually wasn’t.

I’m guessing its a movie with a fairly similar theme, if I recall the scene correctly its at the very start of the movie which was also set in the future, a cop has made an arrest and is pushing through a hostile hispanic club to get outside as they shout abuse at him.

Any ideas, have I gone completely insane? (always a distinct possibility)

Sounds like the premier episode of Time Trax.

As part of the hero Darien Lambert’s back story, he is shown doing what you describe. Making an arrest while a crowd shouts “Blanco!” at him. A reference to his status as a minority, being a white policeman in a united world culture.

I read through the show description and noted another connection - apparently Mia Sara (best known as Ferris Bueller’s girlfriend Sloane) had a part on the show at some point. She also appeared in Timecop, as the wife.

That does sound like the right show and would have been from the correct time period but I’ve just watched the intro and it doesn’t ring any bells, odd how things get messed up in your memory over the years…

Thanks!

Is it possible it could’ve been from the Time Cop TV series?
