What movies would you like to see a sequel to?

I’m not referring to movies that are obviously series (Godfather, James Bond, Vacation, etc.), but movies whose characters you’d like to see used again.

Some of mine:

RIDGEMONT HIGH- It’s time for their twentieth anniversary reunion- find out whate’er happened to Spicoli (I’m guessing he’s a narc or a Congressman now.)

MY COUSIN VINNIE- surely he’s tried some more cases by now, and he and Mona Lisa are still bickering.

TORCHSONG TRILOGY- whatever happened to Arnold during and after the AIDS crisis, Reaganomics, and middle age.
DEEP IMPACT- the rebuilding of a (non-nuclear) post Apocalyptic country could be a fascinating story.

Hm. Maybe Field of Dreams. Maybe. It’d be nary impossible to make one -even if its a good film by itself- that wasn’t labeled as crap when put as a sequel to the original. But I’m curious to what it’s like in the Corn.

I always wondered what became of Michelle Pfeiffer’s character after the events in Wolf

I’d really like to see a sequel to The Thing, by John Carpenter. It would follow a similar storyline to the game that was released earlier this year: A rescue expedition, trying to find out why they suddenly lost contact with U.S. Outpost 31.

Sounds like it would turn out something like the movie Aliens.

No, no! Then it would fall into the same trap as “2010” did. They tried to ruin the original movie by trying to explain too much.

I flip back and forth about a sequel to Bull Durham.

It would be nice to hear how Crash made it to the bigs as a coach or manager and see the long drawn out love affair between him and Annie Savoy.

But at the same time…the movie isn’t really about baseball. It’s about age and time and love. And those things don’t really need explanation.

How about Highlan-…Ouch! Hey! Quit it! OW!!!

I’m still waiting for Spaceballs II: The Search for more Money

Cisco reminded me of one Mel Brooks sequel I wanted to see:

History of the world - Part II

The original was not as good as his classics but it had very funny parts.

And I want to see Hitler on ice!!!

The Program - I kinda want to see if Joe wins the heisman in his senior year. Also, whether or not the win the bowl game.

There should have been only one.

Eutychus, I have those same reservations on the idea.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

There’s a treatment, somewhere, of Cameron being a wageslave, and the movie repeats itself.

Real Genius II.

Metropolis

Bachelor Party 2: The Divorce Proceedings, featuring Tom Hanks, Tawny Kitaen and Adrian Zmed. I’m guessing that two out of the three actors would readily jump on board such a project.

The Goonies 2, which supposedly is going to happen!

I know you didn’t ask for already existing series, but a new Indiana Jones would be cool. Not sure if it will ever happen though. The principals are interested in making one, but time passes…

Caddyshack 2: I know they already made a sequel, but this one would be funny.

A Fish Called Wanda 2: Otto’s Revenge!. Fierce Creatures is NOT a sequel.

Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season. I liked the footage shown in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. “I don’t like the sound of them apples, Will!”

Another already existing series that I want to see another sequel to but it will probably not happen: Evil Dead 4.

I want a sequel to “The Breakfast Club” Think about it, the gang, most of them married to each other, are accindentally locked in the school library while attending a reunion in the gym.
they bare their souls, Emilio reveals that he uses Rogaine, Molly reveals the use of botox,…Etc…

To be honest, I’ve always been angry that they never made Doctor Detroit II: The Wrath Of Mom.

I’d like to see that.

Buckaroo Banzi vs. the World Crime Syndicate. At least that’s what the next one should have been, if you belive the end credits to the first.

A hundred or so years later, Dr. Lao returns to another small town, etc

Dr Strangelove… That ending was so open that so many possibilities are there for a sequel
