Lately I can’t stop listening to this album; Waco Jesus - Down In Flames just came on again.
Triumvirat - Spartacus
If you've never heard it, definitely worth a listen.Their best song; this should be a classic that everyone knows.
The roar of the waves on Lake Michigan, actually.
In water there lives yet the echo of the Music of the Ainur more than in any substance else that is in this Earth.
OK, now I’m listening to Jethro Tull’s Thick as a brick
lovelytheband, Broken
The Who’s Live at Leeds: Special Super Duper Edition. Just finishing “A Quick One While He’s Away.”
Been listening to the new Lupe Fiasco album Drogas Wave (Spotify link to whole album)
YouTube link to just one track
I have also been listening to Immortal’s album Son’s of Northern Darkness (Spotify link to full album) as part of my quest to understand metal music. It’s kind of crazy good. Probably the most “fun” Black Metal I have tried.
Loaded my mp3player with zydeco. Just downloaded some albums at random. I like it.
The Hollies. There’s a discussion on another board that has a bunch of links to some great songs.
And if you like good zydeco, try some good Irish trad. This is a short clip of the Sligo band Dervish, in a pub, a while back. Cathy Jordan may not still look this good, but she sounds this good.
Agreed. I have a personal conspiracy theory that the ex-Doper John Clay is actually the lead singer, Neal Fallon. He was testing out new lyrics here on the board until he was banned. The similarities are eerie. :D.
Thanks to the one-hit wonder thread, I actually just bought Modern English’s After the Snow album. This album is way more post-punk that I was expecting – I hear lots of Gang of Four (or similar) influence over this record (I swear, change the production and arrangement a little on “Tables Turning” or “Life in the Gladhouse” and you have a Gang of Four song), which I was not expecting from only knowing their New Wave pop hit “I Melt With You.” Lots of solid stuff on this album, and I would totally recommend it to anyone into post-punk or early New Wave.
Im listening to my Pink Floyd record
(The wall)
Current song: Another brick in the wall Part II
Dude, since we’re here I’ll add my current faves, too. I just bought a new car, and it came with a free satellite radio trial run. BB King has an outstanding Blues channel called Bluesville, and there’s also a Grateful Dead station that plays lots of live Dead music. I’ll add the Deep Tracks station as a third “What I’m listening to now”.
I love BB KING!!!
I have albums
RECORD: Indianola Mississippi Seeds (1970)
CASSETTE: L.A. Midnight (1972)
Right now? Listening to Wilco’s “Being There” album while getting some things prepped for dinner tonight.
Sonny Clark Trio: the 1960 Sessions, with George Duvivier and Max Roach. Sprightly, melodious bebop for piano, bass, drums.
Now: a Debussy piano compilation streams on uTube. Next: Scott Joplin piano rags.
Pulp - Common People.
