KEXP is the best channel on YouTube, and Cheryl Waters (and the rest of them) are fantastic. I don’t understand how they produce the quality and quantity they do, but god bless 'em for all that and the diversity of what they find. And I have found SO many bands through them. My only complaint (and not their fault) is every time I see a band I’m interested in, it turns out they’re on an east–>west tour and just left my area.
I agree with everything you say about KEXP. Their videos are top notch and the sound is amazing. This latest is part of a fund raiser so I contributed.
Manic is a good way to describe it. I have no idea how they pull that off. That looper control is unbelievable.
I use to read the Dope every day. For the past couple of years, it has been reduced to an hour every Friday afternoon. While listening to the Hearts of Space weekly program. (I like to think of it as space cadet music.) Almost every week, I find one or two songs worth exploring further which often lead to other interesting works. Which lead me to a most fortuitous discovery: Hania Rani.
