What music are you listening to right now

KEXP is the best channel on YouTube, and Cheryl Waters (and the rest of them) are fantastic. I don’t understand how they produce the quality and quantity they do, but god bless 'em for all that and the diversity of what they find. And I have found SO many bands through them. My only complaint (and not their fault) is every time I see a band I’m interested in, it turns out they’re on an east–>west tour and just left my area.

I enjoyed the linked video, that was manic.

I agree with everything you say about KEXP. Their videos are top notch and the sound is amazing. This latest is part of a fund raiser so I contributed.

Manic is a good way to describe it. I have no idea how they pull that off. That looper control is unbelievable.

I’m checking out soundtrack cuts from Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert.

Chicago - Little One

I use to read the Dope every day. For the past couple of years, it has been reduced to an hour every Friday afternoon. While listening to the Hearts of Space weekly program. (I like to think of it as space cadet music.) Almost every week, I find one or two songs worth exploring further which often lead to other interesting works. Which lead me to a most fortuitous discovery: Hania Rani.

I’ve been listening to quite a few songs on TikTok. This is one I can’t get out of my head. The singer is an absolute doll.

I’m listening to my favorite genre of music to work to, EDM DJ mixes. It’s good background music for me.

Currently listening to this one from Hernan Cattaneo. He has a weekly show that is consistently excellent if you like this kind of thing.

While out taking my after work walk around the block, I was listening to Steve Hackett and Steve Rothery trade some licks.

The new Michael Monroe album (and very much enjoying it)

The new James McMurtry album. Looking forward to seeing him next month.

I’m listening to the Smooth Jazz music on my TV’s music channel.
