what NBC shows do you like?

I bought a TV today and the two (watchable) channels I get over the air are PBS and NBC.

here is a list of shows from the NBC website - I’ve never heard of most of them. (is Hannibal the character from Silence of the Lambs?)

what’s worth looking at?
30 Rock
America’s Got Talent
American Ninja Warrior
Betty White’s Off Their Rockers
The Biggest Loser
The Blacklist
Camp
Chicago Fire
Community
Crossing Lines
Dateline
Days of our Lives
Do No Harm

Welcome to the Family

Community, especially now that Dan Harmon is back.

Are you completely unfamiliar with all of these shows? I mean The Today Show, The Tonight Show, Saturday Night Live and NBC News have been on the air for decades. Certainly it should be obvious what you’re going to see on NBC News.

And as a bit of helpful information; 30 Rock has ended its series run.

Community, Parks and Recreation, and SNL if there’s a good guest host.

Community, as almost everyone else has mentioned.

Otherwise, I’d have to know more about you than that you like variety!

ha!

I want to hear what you like - and why you like it would be helpful - and then I’ll know if it’s something I’d like.

definitely want to see the Michael J Fox show

I copy/pasted the list without taking out those I’d heard of, including the news. I guess I thought it went without saying that of course I know what the news is like.

guess not!

Another thiing. You might try getting an antenna, preferably an external one. You may be able to pick up other channels.

You’re screwed. NBC has crap for programming. Parks & Rec is pretty good, but even Harmon coming back can’t save Community. The rest of their line-up is garbage. PBS is your life now. Get used to it.

find out what you can get with an antenna.

on the left half is

Check Your Address for Free TV

it will tell you what stations that you can get with what type of antenna.

local PBS station would likely have 2 or 3 subchannels.

Chicago Fire is a fairly good drama.

This to a tee.

I don’t watch Hannibal but it does make for interesting reads on tumblr.

I like Last Call with Carson Daly because it isn’t all just new musical groups, though I like it for that reason, too. Sometimes he has a director, or actors. One time it was a guy who sold motorcycles.

Another vote for “Community” and “Parks and Rec”. Also my wife and I enjoy watching “Grimm” (Portland cop hunts down mythical creatures in his spare time).

There isn’t much left on NBC except Parks and Rec.
I love Community and will watch it if it’s on. Excuse me if I have a hard time believing it’s coming back. I almost expect half the episodes to premier on Netflixs.

I watch Revolutions, but a lot of the fun is to make fun of it.

I’ll check out the new Michael J. Fox show, but it doesn’t look any better then the recent Mathew Perry shows they tried, which weren’t that bad but only lasted one season.

Here are the ones I like:

Chicago Fire
Crossing Lines
Dateline
Ironside
Law & Order: SVU
The Voice

I’m also kind of a nit-wit so take that list as you will.

Community
Hannibal

My wife and I watch Camp, but its more of a compromise for us both to have a show to watch together. We only watch a few shows together and this one was tolerable enough for the both of us.

luckily, PBS is excellent - I saw Last Tango in Halifax last night.

meanwhile, Grimm and Chicago Fire sound like what I’d like & of course I have to try Community and Parks & Rec - peer pressure, you know.

Grimm is worth it just for Monroe and the Beavers alone.

I’m pretty sure the only things we watch on NBC these days is Grimm and football.

There is a reason NBC ratings have tanked and they are the lowest ranking of the so-called “major networks”.

The Today Show has gotten worse and worse over the years, and most of the big new shows of the NBC seasons rarely see a second season.

Best example of corporate screw ups is the constant battle with The Tonight Show - say what you want about Leno (and I like him), he is still the number one late night talk show, but NBC, in their infinite wisdom - has decided once again to throw out Leno and go for the invisible, non-existent, younger late show audience. See how well that worked out with Conan? Nothing wrong with Fallon, and wish him the best - but why in the hell would you mess with the only show that constantly ranks number one in the ratings? With the stiff competition of late shows out there, the results simply can’t be good!

NBC used to be a powerhouse of great shows, but their switch to reality based nonsense and poor choices of odd series with long story arcs that never see season two (or are often canceled after just a few episodes) turns people off from even bothering to get involved or interested. Why watch a series about The History Of The World, knowing it was going to be canceled before the earth’s crust cools?

NBC executives have proven you can be rich and still throw up a free lunch. Idiots.

I saw a preview screening of The Blacklist last week. It was excellent. Of course, I’ve only seen the pilot, so it’s yet to be seen if they can make a go of the whole series.
