What, no American Idol thread yet?

I netflixed “The Best of American Idol” this week, and took it over to my mom’s to watch it with her. My dad would wander in and out of the room, watching bits. None of us watched it during the second season, so really didn’t know who anyone other than Clay & Reuben were. They showed the scene where the bottom two are standing there, after Corey Clark had left the show. Ryan announced that even before the votes were counted, the decision was made not to kick anyone off that week. The two girls look shocked and hug and scream or whatever.
What does my dad do? Rushes out of the room making choking noises where he’s trying not to cry. He’s such an old softie.

Like we don’t hear enough Stevie Wonder as it is?

Or, how about these?

Agreed.

Kevin - Ebony & Ivory. I want him to go home.

Mandissa - Living for the City. She’d kill.

Paris - My Cherie Amour might be just cute as pie.

Elliot - Place in the Sun or maybe I Never Dreamed You’d Leavi in Summer - cause he’s a ballad guy.

Lisa - Superstition. I’d like to see her rock out a little

Melissa - If You Really Love Me

Ace - Golden Lady. If he murders it he’ll go home, if he does it justice he’ll deserve to stay.

Kellie - Part Time Lover cause she needs melody and bounce.

Bucky - Oy, Buckey’s tough. It might be kind of fun to hear him growl out You Haven’t Done Nothin’. Never happen, though.

Katherine - Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday. She didn’t embarass herself with Think. She could sing it.

Taylor (best for last) * “I was born in Little Rock, had a childhood sweetheart…”* Yes!
Hey, how about Too High for the group sing? Serenade style for the, um…panel.

Heh. Maybe “I Just Called To Say I Love You” for the group sing. It has a whole new meaning on American Idol.

I did, and I respect the sort of fan who knows his musician as well as you do. I’d enjoy making a similar list for Elton John.
