What??? No MMP???

Got home around 3, ran errands, planted bulbs, packed clothes, packed non-perishable food and cooking stuff, watched a few episodes of Cheers while doing stuff, am pretty sure I have everything. We’re getting up at 7 and hoping to leave at 8. My guess is we’ll be lucky to be out at 9.

Next post might be from Chicago-ish.

Hugs all!

Off oop North! The torrential rain’s stopped, the winds have dropped overnight, the sun’s out there’s wee burdies tweeting in the bushes and all in all this looks like a much better day for a long car trip. Now I just need to not forget anything…

Happy generic holiday season one and all!

Blurf.

Safe travels to all of those who are off somewhere…I am staying inside today, apart from having ventured out to get the bins back in after the rubbish collection this morning. Today’s plan is to do very little, although I may guilt myself into half an hour of exercise this afternoon.

Other than that, I shall be impersonating a sloth.

I miss my bed!! My back is so achy - the guest bed here is so hard. Three more nights… :frowning:

No idea if we’re going to do anything today. I’ve got a shawl in progress, so I can be doing something if we spend the day in front of the TV. The rest of the family will be here tomorrow - there will be 9 of us in total. And, naturally, there will be way too much food. Daughter has come up with 3 games for us to play as part of our $10 gift and white elephant exchanges. That should be fun.

And that’s the excitement from a generic retirement community in Ocala. If I ever say I want to live in a place like this, shoot me, please!!

Happy Christmas Eve!

Went to the store this morning to get a few items. I think I’ll spend the rest of the day inside.

I feel so bad for the people elsehwere in Canada who have no electricity and no heat. :frowning:

Bah! Humbug!

10 more hours till it’s over.

I am so full of OW today. I ache like I have the flu but I don’t have a fever. Has to be yesterday’s rain and today’s drizzle that’s attacking me. I am full of OW

Most of our customers are closed, and we can’t even ship anything because UPS isn’t picking up. Why the eff am I here today???

Poor rosie… I’m achy, but it’s bed related, and not in a good way.

I prescribe chocolate!

Thanks, Dr. Moooooom, but I’m in no condition to go out an get any. Cousin said she’d visit this weekend, I’ll ask her to bring some. I just hope she doesn’t eat it all in the way.
As for your ow, did you see my suggestions about taking a nap in the hosts’ bed? while they’re chillin’ with the fam?

It’s dead here. D-E-D. As a doornail.

The overwhelming majority of my usual “customers” are out for the week, so requests to add/drop users is low, and due to the year-end freeze, there’s no building of new applications. I think the only people working in large numbers are the telephone customer support groups (and they’re fairly self-supporting, which is a good thing considering the typical “churn” of new hires that don’t last very long.) plus the network and ATM tech support groups.

All of your last-minute shopping has the mainframes running only slightly warm, but if they go down, there would be riots in the streets.

How many games of backgammon and solitaire can I play today? I think the answer will be MANY!

We’re just outside West Lafayette, IN. I’m bored.

But there’s a field full of wind turbines up ahead. So there’s that.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Hi everyone!

Not sure I’ve posted in an MMP before. I may have done but I’m 50 now so the memory isn’t what it used to be*

Just moved my 94-year-old Dad from his house just west of London to a new bungalow just south of the Peak District. He’s wheelchair bound, having suffered polio as a child, so his old house wasn’t really suitable as he couldn’t access the top half of it. He seems much happier now scooting around a single-floor dwelling, and has a proper bedroom rather than a converted living-room, and a proper wheel-in bath and loo rather than having to have sponge-downs and a using a commode.

So here’s wishing him, and all of you, a safe and prosperous 2014, and may we all reach the grand old age of 94 with as good grace as the old boy.

Gawd bless us, every one </Tiny Tim>

  • but I’ve still got all my own teeth.

Hey Robbio (everyone gets a Mumper nickname and I propose this one) and welcome to the MMP. Good for your Dad and thanks for the Holiday wishes.

Mawnin all, just barely 11 minutes til noon central. I got nothing.

Stay warm all you folks to the North

I still cannot edit video, computer geek has said he will help

Jim

RobDog (you need a nickname, where’s Swampy) good for your dad for being willing to move. My mom moved into a “retirement community” and lived there 2.5 years until she died. It’s not the same situation as your dad, but she said it was the best thing she did. So tell dad to enjoy the holidays in his new digs.

I’m in limbo for an hour. I’m waiting for a phone call and told the person I would be home until 1pm, then I’m out and about. I got a notice there is a package for me at the P Off and it’s perishable. I have no idea what it is. Maybe a B.A. fruit basket from Harry & David??? Except I don’t know anyone named Harry.

Thanks Jim. I’ll take Robbio, sounds kind of Italian and debonnaire, so like me
