It smells all roasty in here already, and there are a few hours to go for the leg of lamb in the oven. It’s also hot in here now, I have three windows cracked and it’s 7F outside, 78F inside. I’m pants free at the moment.

Welcome, Robbio! I think I’d like to live to 94 or so - in fact, I felt about that old this morning. Speaking of which - rosie, all beds in this house are VERY FIRM so swiping another won’t do me any good. I’d sleep on a recliner, but I’m ready for bed earlier than everyone else. I’ll survive 3 more nights.
One of tomorrow’s menu items is ribs. Sadly, my MIL prepares them by boiling the crap out of them, then throwing them on the grill with sauce. They’ve just finished boiling - tomorrow they’ll hit the grill. In my kitchen, they’d have been low and slow in the oven all day. I’m thinking I’ll eat the ham.
Most of today had been spent watching old movies. I’ve got my shawl almost halfway done. All in all, pretty boring… But it’s sunny out, so there’s that.
Thirty more minutes and I am O-U-T.

I gave up and took a half day. It was so boring, and co-worker decided she’s going to take the day off and leave me alone on Friday, so I feel justified. Roomie and Visiting Friend were also sending me pictures of the pets and demanding I come home for naptime. I made it home just as the UPS guy dropped off my pretty new iPad, and I got a keyboard to go with it so I can actually type responses to things.
So, lunchtime, and then naptime. We have to wait for the cake to come out of the oven. And speaking of cake, somebody needs to sing to me, dammit. 
What? I’m hot! I’ll have to open the back door later to cool the place before guests arrive.

I feel like I’m in a TB ward - all the coughing and hacking!! :eek: My sweetie just went to lie down - he’s starting to feel bad. I’m thinking I’ll sleep on the couch tonight because I can’t get sick - I’ve got a long drive on Firday and I have to go home then. So we shall see…
I had to take a break from TV - it went from old movies to some Star Trek movie to the Golf channel to (now) some Spanish stations. No one in the house except me understands any Spanish, so I don’t get that particular choice. I’m really trying to keep a good attitude, but sitting around in a retirement community all day gets old way fast.
Plus all the cookies have been eaten and I’ve got munchies!!

It’s 38 and sunny outside. Not too cold but I have finished all my running and am in for the day.
Unfortunately I had to go out both yesterday and today and both of my middle fingers are worn out. Damn! People are rude this time of year.
Today is laundry day but we had pizza yesterday, so today was BLECH! taco bell day. I ate half a burrito and I feel sick. Sah-son loves taco bell, what can I say? Nobody is perfect.
He got his hair cut today which is his Christmas present to his grandmother.

Howdy from Ye Olde Hometowne! I’ve actually been here a while but been bzzy. I have baked and peeled a buncha sweet N.O.T. which will turn into a sweet N.O.T. souffle, minus the one I et cause I loves me a good baked sweet N.O.T. Also, a very strange thing has occured. It seems a slice of coconut (is that spelled right?) cake, a piece of German chawklit cake and a slice of pee-kahn pie have gone missin’. <insert sweet angelic smiley face here> I am also strangely full for somebody who did not eat N.O.L.
Welcome Robbio! I’m really happy for your dad and his new digs. May he have years still to fully enjoy the place.

We have arrived at our destination only to discover that our rooms do not have the semi-full kitchens that were promised. My brother suspects this is an older version of the brand and they haven’t upgraded yet. We already had quite a bit of cooking gear (including 2 crockpots). Now we just need to acquire a knife and chopping board and probably another crockpot or rice steamer. Will also need a few more serving items.
This will be interesting.
We’ve got three rooms, so we should have enough microwave and fridge space for what we’re cooking.
