What??? No MMP???

Ha! Careful what you ask for! I’ve got a little bourbon on board (too much eggnog?)

Guests have come and gone. The lamb turned out fantastic. Gifts are wrapped, and packed, appetizer to take to the family gathering tomorrow is done, I’m ahead of schedule. Don’t have to get up until 11. Gonna watch Rare Exports, my new favorite Christmas movie. Then to beddie bye.

Merry Christmas!

Ho Ho Ho! Daughter is planning to get here around 10, and I’m assuming BIL and SIL will arrive about the same time. There will be much eating and silliness. Meanwhile, it’s doggone cold in Ocala! 39… OK not all that cold, unless you’re outside in bare feet chasing a stoopit dog who decides to go exploring. My feets are almost back to room temp.

Happy Day to all!! Look! It’s mistletoe!! MWAH!!!

Up, caffeinated, off to go see some friends.

Bah! Humbug!

Merry Christmas!

Each year, I arrange a well-known Christmas carol for my bass clarinet, and record it. Here is my gift to you guys - this year’s arrangement. I used some of my instrument’s special lowest notes. Enjoy.

Have a great day, all!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated, and purtified at mom’s place in Ye Olde Hometowne. 'Tis 26 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 54 and sunny. Not a bad Christmas day weather forecast at all.

I had much fun at sis’s house last night. She made homemade Brunswick stew. YUM! Plus I was doggie attacked a lot. My nieces and nephews lurve me! Ok, they love the fact that Unca Swampy is the giver of many treats. What? I’m their uncle, it’s my place to spoil 'em!

Ok, that’s all I got. Gonna go surf a little bit and then do what I’m told to do to help get the festivities goin’. I’m surprised sis has not already called to tell me to get my butt down there. The bros and spouses and whoever else is showin’ up family wise will all start pilin’ in around elevenish this mornin’.

Meanwhile…

** MERRY CHRISTMAS Y’ALL!!!**

**Bah! (blurf) Humbug!

Merry Christmas!

and Happy Hump Day!

I have badly overslept and need to get a move on, except i woke with a sore throat and stiff neck and want to go back to sleep.

It’s friggin cold here, the back door was frozen shut and was hard to open to let the Sah-dog out.

I’ll soon be off to my nieces for brunch and the gift exchange and then back home. I also get to watch piddle pup today and tomorrow.

So have a merry day everyone.

Feliz Navidad to those who celebrate and Happy Humping Day to those who do not.

Cheers

Jim

Wow, what happened to the MMP? Guess you’re all off having a good time.

I’m still here
Having a quick lurky
Sipping a beer
Waiting for me turkey

:stuck_out_tongue:

Pip pip and season’s greeting from Englandland!

Home from the nieces,
and I am stuffed.

I didn’t get batteries for the grand nephews toy - mea culpa, I’m usually a stickler for including a pack of batteries with the gifts.
Sah-son assembled the ones that needed assembling.

I have to leave in a bit to go watch piddle pup. I’ll probably just stay there since going back and forth is such a pita. I’ll pack a lunch/dinner.
I’m surprised at how many places are open today, and their parking lots were packed. So sad, I only hope the people forced to work today are being well paid.
(I don’t know why I always say that when I haven’t had a holiday off in years and I don’t mind working.)

egg roll, wonton soup, Happy Family, and Doctor Who on the telly. Life is good.

I

Am

So

Stuffed

As I’m sure you know, Christmas Dinner here in Englandland is the equivalent of your Thanksgiving in Americaland. So my poor poor digestive system is trying to cope with turkey, stuffing, roast parsnips, brussel sprouts, pigs in blankets, gravy, cranberry sauce and bread sauce, before the onslaught of the Christmas pud and brandy butter.

Biggest mistake was giving the NLD (Nasty Little Dog) a small plate of same. She’s now looking at me like “Why the flipping flip haven’t you been feeding me this my whole bloody life?”

I’ve also has two glasses of not bad champagne, not bad at all (Dom Perignon since you didn’t ask… oooooooh, get her). I don’t usually touch alkeehol, so I have that feeling of jolly goodwill to my fellow vaguely humanoid type creatures, so I shall sign off this missive from across the deep and treacherous pond by sending a big wet sloppy kiss to all of you over there, and wish you every health and happiness for the coming year.

Toodle-oo and pip-pip.

Robbio

Mass quantities of foodstuffs have been consumed. Ham, poppyseed chikin, squish casserole cornbread dressin’, sweet N.O.T. casserole, green beans, corn, fried okra, rolls, apple crisp, pee-kahn pie, coconut cake, German chawklit cake, stuff I can’t remember. OOF!

I score gifty cards to the Pubic Sto’ and :eek:Wally*World:eek:  which makes me happy as well.

Hope everyone has had a great day!

I had Christmas dinner with friends(baked ziti and garlic bread). I got a bunch of Doctor Who stuff; TARDIS mug, TARDIS alarm clock, a Cyberman bust and a Dalek. Now I’m waiting for the Doctor Who Christmas special.

Glad you’re enjoing, Robbio.

Loved the arrangement, Midget.

Add my voice to the chorus of the stuffded. Ham, ribs, baked beans, green beans, greens, mac-n-cheese, sweet N.O.T. casserole - with pecans, not marshmallows - deviled eggs, celery, olives, rolls, 4 kinds of fudge, pecan pie, custard pie, peach cobbler, cookies, bar cookies, and probably other things that I’ve forgotten. Stuffded, I say!!!

Daughter’s games were hilarious! Best thing is I didn’t end up with any white elephants and I gave my $10 gift to my daughter since she wanted it and I’d stolen it from her. She loved her squid and the slippers. And she gave me some Lindt truffles - YAY! All in all a fun day. Everyone has gone home and most of the cleanup is done. MIL is putting the last of the dishes in the dishwasher (she refuses any help) and Higgs has collapsed in exhaustion. Yep, a good day.

Tomorrow, I’ll be going to a huge local liquor store to try to get some local wines for my mom’s b-day. Next day, I head north. I’ll be glad to sleep in my own bed.

Huggy Christmas to all, and to all a good MWAH!!!

It’s nearly 1AM and I’ve had maybe an hour of sleep. Someone is snoring so loudly that I can hear him thru a closed door almost 2 rooms away. If I’m lucky, I might fall asleep on this recliner, but I need to surf in the hopes of relaxing enough to fall asleep. It’s gonna be a long night… :frowning:

Yes, swampy, being a traveling meth lab is a new family tradition.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Or a nice day, if you weren’t celebrating.

We had a fun day. I spent a lot of it getting stuff together for dinner. Everyone thought it was quite admirable and unusual; I just thought it was routine. We had: turkey breast (thank Og for Crock Pots), sweet potatoes with orange and pecan/brown sugar topping (thank Og for microwaves), mashed NOTs (ditto the thanks for microwaves), stuffing (thank Og for rice cookers), gravy (from the packet that came with the turkey - not great, but better than nothing), cranberry relish (thank Og for mini food processors). There was bread on the side and boughten desserts (caramel apple pie, raspberry squares, and other stuff I’m forgetting. They let us eat in the breakfast area downstairs, so we had all kinds of room. (The staff here have been awesome; we are a loud, energetic group, with some of us verging on the obnoxious.)

One of our local cousins joined us (from the other side of the family, but she fit right in - we’re weird on both sides!) and then some other local friends stopped by. We also had a video chat with family that wound up being a virtual family dinner.

Then there were a couple of rounds of poker, more chatting, and then more, even louder, arrivals.

Tomorrow is shopping at outlets for everyone else. Nephew and I are going to be slackers and go see the Hobbit and wander around the strip mall and then come back and relax before the last group of cousins arrives. I think there are going to be 16 of us before we’re done.

Don’t think I could do this every year, but it’s amusing to do once in a while.

Hugs.

GT

Happy belated burfday, Drae!

I think Robbio is confusing, we already have a Bobbio… then again, I’m easily confused. Welcome in any case, the chocolate is in the kitchen and you’re supposed to send some of your own to FCM.

Belated happies, Drae!

Happy Boxing Day, mumpers! I had a lovely Christmas day, went to the pub for lunch (Wetherspoons, for those of you on this side of the pond) and waddled home absolutely stuffed. Spent the afternoon on the sofa watching the muppet xmas movie until I could manage to move again then spent the evening sipping champagne.

Today I’m cooking the full turkey and trimmings affair, then off to spend the evening with friends so that will be fun. Right now I have to get dressed and get this snoozy cat off my lap because I have a hot date with a turkeybird!

Hope you’re feeling a bit less ouchie today, rosie, I’m sure the sonic screwdriver could have cured it all for you
