I’ve failed in two out of 34, including my most recent post about the obscure music radio program Crap from the Past. A third one got only one response, which was posted in error.
Yeah but I’ve started 238 threads. I’m not about to go through them all and count, but I know there have been at least 2 or 3 which got no replies. Maybe a few more.
I’m a Top 40 digging, Sean Paul grooving girl. Regaeton? Love that shit! If I start a tread on this I’m sure to get plenty of responses on how much it sucks. Anything not in the Top 40-- no dice. I would not say I’m into roots but here on the Dope, you’d be hard pressed to find someone who’ll talk about Shabba Ranks! And it’s a million times worse with Latin music.

Lazy! Search returned 750 threads I started and I flipped through 30 pages to count the 0 replies. Of course, I didn’t want to but since I started this thread I felt obligated.
I think Rigamarole’s just being modest. I just looked at his threads and he’s had 2 no-replies out of 238 threads started - that’s .84%.
I have had 4 no-replies out of 138 threads started - 2.9%. I’m a little surprised at my threads that didn’t get any replies. They seem to be just like all the rest of my threads - not weird topics or way-out-there questions. Hmph.
I’ve never had no replies, but I have 36 out of a 103 with less than 10 replies, which is disappointing!
Less than I thought…about 6% out of 164 threads.
I hardly ever start threads, probably for fear of the no reply syndrome. I suspect I’d take it far too personally.
This thread makes me feel a little bit freer. Clearly, just like so many other things, it happens to the best of people.
About 2% out of ~250 threads. I’m surprised I have so many OPs.
2 of my 10 threads have zero replies. I win at failing. One was a tech help question which I ended up solving myself within a day or two. And one was just this week. (No! don’t ruin it!) It was a link to a long long long political article, without trying to have a debate. Almost MPSIMS, but more like HopelessandDesperateSIMS, so it was in the Pit. I figure most people went from there to reading the article I linked, then killed themselves beating their head on the wall like I wanted to.
I’ve only had two of my 100+ OPs fail. One was about an obscure radio program that I posted for the hell of it, so I’m not shocked. One that did suprise me was that no one seemed to know how they calculate the weekend movie grosses so quickly.
(I was really hoping that this thread wouldn’t get any replies, because I think major lulz would have ensued.)
I’m going to guess somewhere between 10% and 20%, as I feel like I post boring things in MPSIMS and IMHO all the time.

Huh, it’s only around 4%, 9 of the first 250 results of when I search for my started threads.
But I have an AWFUL lot of threads that have <10 replies.
Two out of 215, which is too small to calculate. But I have had quite a lot that had under four responses.
I can’t really think of any although there may have been some in 9 years. I don’t really start any threads unless I expect them to go into multiple pages unless it is something really specific that I really just want a flat-out factual answer to. A lot of people don’t write thread titles well at all. I try to make sure that all of mine are as clear as possible based on letter constraints and people seem to respond to that.
Lots of mine drop, which is sad because I rarely start threads. I guess I just don’t write interesting OPs.
Under my current and previous names I have 16 total. It’s not a good feeling, I can tell you that. And because of it I’m really cautious of what I post.
Let’s see, I apparently have started 486 posts, wow. So 16 out of 486 is…huh, it’s only a little over 3 percent, but if feels like a lot more.
ETA - To me what’s just as bad is asking a serious question and only getting sarcastic answers. I have a few of those too.
You all really should look at your numbers. even sven, you’ve had 9 no-replies out of 331 started threads, which leaves you with a very respectable (because it’s lower than mine 
) 2.7%. You DO write interesting OPs.
I’ve only had one post go completely unanswered, another only had two replies. (5.88% unanswered, 11.76% marginally answered)
Five percent of my threads have 0 replies.
Counting a little more, 47% of my threads have five or fewer replies.
And just to round it out, 5% of my threads had 70 or more replies.
There’s a bell curve there, but I don’t want to figure out the median.
