I think it’s a case by case basis and quite subjective.
I’m also curious what some of y’all would think about certain behavior involving women and hardware. I think I have both given and received “blowjobs” in such situations but orgasms were not a direct result. From a receiving perspective, the degree of pleasure and intensity depend completely on the skills/moves/attitude of the giver. Female here. I voted for “any” qualifies as a BJ, but the purpose can vary. Sometimes I might “play” around because it’s fun for me, and I know he enjoys it, but I’m not really putting in consistent stimulation that would make him have an orgasm. Sometimes orgasm is the destination, so I’m more direct and specific. Sometimes it can be teasing, where I work on him for a little bit, then switch to intercourse, then back to oral, then back to intercourse, etc. I still think that all of them qualify as a BJ - I don’t think you can get hung up on the term.
I keep trying to use this reasoning on straight guys to have them let me suck them off. Doesn’t work.
