What’s your go to snack from convenience store?

I ate a lot of convenience store sandwiches and typical snacks in college. The stores were the only place open late at night.

It’s been a long time since I was on a trip late at night. I’d still buy one of those those sandwiches if needed. I guess a roll of Tums might be needed too.

My wife and I traditionally drive up to Green Bay early on Christmas morning, to spend the holiday with my family. Part of that traditional trip is a stop at the convenience store (originally a White Hen Pantry, it’s now a 7-Eleven) up the street from our house for something to eat while we’re on the road, as few other places are open.

Before I was diagnosed with diabetes, my “breakfast” from the White Hen Pantry was a six pack of those chocolate Donettes, and a bottle of Pepsi. The breakfast of Champions!

Yeah, the sandwiches are understandable. They aren’t great but they can scratch a certain itch, especially when you want something savory that feels meal-like from a 7-eleven. But I remember having a few microwave cheeseburgers and man, they do not reheat well.
