What stuff did "They" stop making just because you like it?

Faygo Brau ginger beer. Awesome stuff, gone way too soon. Goya brand Jamaican style ginger beer is a bit better, but it’s a dollar a bottle around here.

This country needs another good ginger beer at Faygo prices.

Yeah, I stumbled upon a box about 6 months ago and bought them with glee, thinking that they would be just as good as they used to be years ago. I was very wrong. The girl scouts make a pretty decent version called Savannah Smilies though.

Aarrgghh!

Hi, I really loved one of nestles SASS drinks. It was called Pineapple Sass. I only found out it was made by nestle today. I have been looking for it for decades, but I cant find much info on it. I found your post in Google search and thought I would give you a reply.

Also, on the shampoo topic. I used to really love Revlons shampoo with the Jontue (perfume brand) scent. I havent seen it in decades either.

Here’s a link to a newspaper advertising the sass drinks…

Hell yeah, they screwed those up bad.

Zicam cold relief nasal swab - that stuff worked to prevent colds. I read people got too enthusiastic and, shoving the q-tip swab too far up the nose or too vigorously, damaged themselves & then sued Zicam. Discontinued. Perfectly good product.

Olay emollient cleansing lotion. Gone, replaced by countless new cleansing lotions - none work as well. My grandmother & I bought as many as we could find when we heard they were to be discontinued!

This doesn’t really count, but the Wendy’s kids burgers don’t have pickles anymore by me. Now you have to ask but they don’t come all pre-squished with the sweet sour ketchup mix I loved. Plus it’s the last thing I’m thinking of in the mad rush at the drive through.

I can remember a little news item I read probably 15 or so years ago, Sophia Loren found out that some cosmetics company that made her signature eye makeup colors and lipstick color were being discontinued so she bought up every one she could find [or her assistants did, same difference!]

Now there are cosmetics companies that do boutique custom work so you can get any color eye. lip or nail cosmetic reproduced for a price. At one time there was a company that would reproduce lotions, shampoos and conditioners, and perfumes. If you have the money that is :stuck_out_tongue:

Multiple Trader Joe’s products such as their addictive mustard flavored wonton chips. I suppose I should be grateful there’s one near me in the first place.

Agreed.
GREAT cereal.

Here’s a few of mine:

Gee your hair smells terrific shampoo

Kirkland Chocolate almond toffee ice cream. I think the basic flavor was vanilla, but it had broken-up pieces of their chocolate almond toffees all mixed up inside. The only half-gallon ice cream I’ve been able to find in SoCal for several years, unless I am willing to get TWO half-gallons of their vanilla ice cream. Which I can’t do, on account of I don’t have the space in my freezer to accommodate that much ice cream. It really cost WAY more than I usually think is appropriate to pay for ice cream, but on principle, I will not buy 56-ounce, or worse, 48-ounce containers of ice cream, so I was willing to behave irrationally and against my interests to get it.

Costco dropped it in my location a couple of years ago. A call to the corporate offices confirmed for me that it was completely discontinued and was not going to be coming back.* So, I started buying the actual chocolate almond toffee candies (they’re kind of like Almond Roca, but more substantial, including bigger chunks of almond, right inside the toffee).

Until last month, when THOSE disappeared from the SoCal shelves (there are FIVE Costco stores within my usual prowling range, including the regional headquarters, where THEY decide what’s going to be available for all of Southern California). Last week, I called corporate with the item number from my last jar (532633), and spoke to a very nice man in Washington, who told me that in the PNW, they LOVE that shizz, and it will always be in the stores.

Well, at least this tells me that the product still exists; next task is to get some delivered to where I can get at it. I then called my regional HQ, hoping to heap some well-deserved abuse upon the forehead of the buyer in charge of Kirkland candies for making such a dumb call, and perhaps [del]intimidate[/del] shame him into taking the suitable corrective action. I wound up speaking with his assistant (presumably the coward had heard of my approaching wrath, and had beaten a hasty retreat to the Caymen Islands for his “vacation”), a perfectly delightful young lady who listened to my concerns, took my contact information, and actually got back to me a couple of days ago. To both of our chagrins, she had to confirm that the product is not a robust enough seller in this region to justify making shelf space for it.**

So now, the number one item on my to-do list when I win the Powerball, is to move to the PNW. And then contract with Skald to have some bees teleported to the L.A. Basin, and teach those Philistines a lesson about what happens to people who refuse to sustain a large enough market for the treats I like to eat.

  • I had no idea they were allowed to do that. It’s always been my contention that the time to delete an item from the inventory is when it stops being delicious, which clearly had not happened with this product.

** And yet they somehow came to the conclusion that they have room for CANNED fucking SARDINES, an item that I don’t even regard as food.***

*** Well, maybe as emergency rations, such as one might justifiably sock away in a disaster-preparedness kit…

I’m not sure what my last complaint was when I previously responded to this thread but, right now, I’m seriously cheesed off that They stopped making Rustiban. I know it’s been gone from the shelves for years now but it used to come in handy quite a lot if I got rust on fabric for whatever reason. Nothing else works. A pox on you, former makers of Rustiban!

Sprite Remix was amazing!

Snapple Elements…I think they have a flavor called Rain. And it was made with cactus juice. OMG, the best!

That same thig happened to me with a lip balm I loved. I’m allergic to something in most lip balms. I finally find the stick version of this lip balm that works & doesn’t make my lips break out in a rash. After buying 4 tubes worth my local cvs, rite aid & Duane reade all stopped carrying it. I tried the cherry flavor & of course I break out a few days later. Luckily the vanilla works without causing a rash! It is available online, but the shipping is four times the amount of this $1.69 lip balm!

BJ’s wholesale club used to make this cream cheese pretzel that was AMAZING. My routine would be to get my groceries, pay & buy one on my way out then BAM they stopped making it one day!

I just remembered I’ve had that stuff before. It was terrific! Didn’t the Fire flavor have dragonfruit in it? I used to drink that all the time.

Yes, SpazCat! So good. Snapple needs to bring the Elements back.

I miss grape fruit roll ups. It was my favorite flavor. When I was in elementary school, my mom would give me a quarter a week to buy one. I would try to make it last all during reccess.
