Given that the komodo dragon refuse to raise their offspring, I’d say that it’s an apt honorific for Grand Dragon Shodan. I’ve been to Flores and the dragons are huge. Up to 3 metres long. And despite their lack of coloration, very hard to see. Especially if you’re wearing sunglasses. Another member of our tour group almost stepped on one.

Recently I had a bad experience trading plant material (cuttings) with another member of a Facebook group. I sent out my package promptly, he didn’t, and when called on it, indignantly said “I work for a living”. I would’ve felt deeply ashamed if not for the fact that I also work for a living and had taken time out of my routine to meet my obligations.
