When Final Fantasy VII first came out for the PC, a few years ago, I purchased it. Unfortunately, I had numerous devil children living in the same house as me, and they managed to scratch the second disc all to hell. At the time in the game after the reunion, when we see the party on the flying ship thingy and the monster thingy is coming out of the rock, the game froze up. No matter how many times I tried, it wouldn’t finish the video… it just locked up. I figured it was 'cause of the scratches so I gave up for then.
Years later, I purchased a brand new shiny copy of the game for cheap. I have a new computer with all new stuff (a 733 P3 as compared to my old 233 P2) even a new monitor! Since I lost my old saved games, I play up to the same point again… and…
THE GAME CRASHES TO DESKTOP!!
This has not happened at any other point while playing so far.
What the fuck! This is not only a new copy but a new COMPUTER! it’s not even the same “edition” so to speak, my new copy has different packaging and shit! it’s the “platinum edition”! Is this just a horrible coincidence and when I replay the whole horribly long sequence it will work this time? Does God hate me? Was this a problem for anyone else??
Fuck!
I’m off to try again.
