What video game are you playing right now?

I find that interesting because I’m the opposite. I find Bethesda is good at making fun to explore world and absolutely horrible at giving me any reason to explore them. I could only tell you the plot of Oblivion or Skyrim in the vaguest terms and couldn’t name a single NPC from Fallout 3 by name. In contrast, I found DA:O very interesting in characters who lived up a fairly stock plot idea and made it something much more.

To each their own, of course and I know a lot of people love Oblivion, et al.

Back at Crusader Kings 2 just recently. Busy building a Baltic/North Sea empire around the Piasts - Poland with Lithuania, Ruthenia and bits of Hungary and the HRE, an expanded Norway and, if I get lucky, maybe Sweden soon ( the Swedish queen regnant is the doting mother of my current Polish monarch but with elective law its a crap-shoot to inherit as a foreigner ).

But I tend to bounce around a lot on games. Might be back to Skyrim next week.

Heh. I have been known to call Morrowind “Elder Scrolls III: The Search for Plot”. They’ve actually gotten better at maintaining the main plot-thread in Oblivion and Skyrim.

And how could you not remember Moira from Fallout 3? The most annoyingly perky and unintentionally dangerous creature in the wasteland? Besides, she gave you a stick that makes mole rat heads explode. (I will say, though, that the NPCs in New Vegas are more memorable, especially in Old World Blues.)

I’m going between Mass Effect 2 and Twisted Metal

Actually speaking of which…my copy of Twisted Metal for PS3 (the newest TM) is glitchy as all hell, is anyone else having this problem?

Black Ops. It helps with the aggression.

Battlefield 3. I play with a clan in one of their competative squads. A new armoured warfare expansion comes out in the next day or so which looks pretty good.

Other than that, a bit of Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2 Beta and waiting for Bordelands 2 & the new XCom

Guild Wars 2. I don’t have a lot of time to play with my current work schedule but any gaming time is being spent on it, I find it a good game to play for short periods at a time. Pretty much everyone I know is playing it (and vastly out-levelling me)…

It’s about a month until the games I care about start being released but I can’t promise I wont move on to something else if the deals are good enough (or the wind changes).

Half-Life 2.

Yeah, not exactly cutting edge modern anymore, but it’s still a really well put together shooter.

I got nostalgic, and decided to go back and try to get all the achievements.

Right now? Starflight

I’ll probably do a run through of Starflight 2 once I finish with the 1st game.

After that it’s back to modern games with either Rise of Flight or Legend of Grimrock.

Starcraft 2, mainly. Still struggling to get out of bronze league. I think I’m close though!

Am looking to buy a Microsoft xbox type controller, in order to be able to properly play I Wanna Be The Guy.
That’s a great tip for anyone who likes an old school challenging (and when I say challenging, I do mean challenging) platformer. It’s free!

Playing the living daylights out of Mass Effect 3 multiplayer; I’ve got an N7 rating of 893 or so. Also just started a new ME1 FemShep; I intend to save the Council, destroy the Collector Base, destroy the Reapers, and romance Garrus and no one else.

Diablo 3 - though I would drop it like a ton of bricks when Torchlight 2 is out.

Garrus is Mai Waifu <3

I’ve been going through the Ratchet and Clank Collection lately. Some of my absolute favorite games on the PS2, and they’ve aged perfectly. I’ve already beat Up Your Arsenal and am going back through the original again.

I have been playing Max Payne 3, HL2: Episode One, Tomb Raider Legend, Anno 2070, Just Cause 2.

Currently storming thru Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars with my 6 year-old.

When he goes to bed, in goes MW3

When this was first posted, I was finishing off Back to the Future: the Game, and now I’m playing Earthbound for the first time. I really wish there were more modern non-strategy non-twitch based games out there. (I have a problem with strategy due to the lack of direction and it always being extremely unclear what the best way forward is. The only exception I’ve found is Plant Vs. Zombies, and I don’t know if that counts.)

Well, I was playing Skyward Sword but the Silent Realm crap is severely pissing me off. So, I’m pouting at the moment and playing Boom Blox because the only thing more fun than Jenga is Jenga on the wii.

I’d consider Plants vs Zombies to be more of a puzzle game, myself.

But it sounds like you’re just generally looking for turn-based goodness? I hope you’ve got your eye on the upcoming Xcom game!

Jagged Alliance - Back in Action.

Challenging game on the hard setting. Impressed with the brutal AI. I was getting pissed with coninually losing a mining area which affected my daily income. Even arming the rebels after I cleared the map didn’t help. I just parked a hired merc team there, I’ll soon find out if that makes a difference.
