What video game are you playing right now?

Right now I’m playing “Update the company’s vacation policy to comply with the Connecticut worker sick pay law.” But at home I’m mostly playing SWTOR, although I’m getting bored with it.

I mainly play League of Legends. Actually, no, I only play League of Legends these days.

Assassin’s Creed III and (I had to get out my old Nintendo 64 for this one) Conker’s Bad Fur Day–that game was so wrong in so many ways, I still love it.

I’m currently playing Arkham City (Game of the Year Edition) for the Xbox. I finished it once already, and then I restarted the game and this time I’m trying to be more assiduous in collecting the Riddler secrets.

I Redbox rented Assassin’s Creed III - at $2.00 / day. I’m $8 in right now and I don’t want to give it back. Best game I’ve played in a while. I’ll have to pick up my own copy for myself for Christmas.

Alternating between Bioshock and Borderlands GOTY. I know I’m way behind the times, but I just bought a new computer (my old one couldn’t handle either game). I could have gotten them for Xbox 360, but with FPS’s I have to have the keyboard-and-mouse.

Also I just bought Batman: Arkham Asylum on Xbox 360. Again, I’m way behind the times here, but I hate dropping $50+ on console games, so I wait for the prices to drop to an acceptable level, in this case I only paid $15.

I just started a second playthrough of 3D Dot Game Heroes for PS3.

This is game is so freakin’ fun. A great love letter to fans of 8 and 16 bit RPGs and Zelda games.

I’m trying to get a platinum trophy for it, so I’ll need to beat it again on New Game+ (ie FROM mode,) and then a third time on Spelunker mode. I’m not looking forward to that last one…everything is a one hit kill.

So… Much… Minecraft.

I don’t know WHY I have a bug up my ass all of a sudden to build a huge walled fortress city on the shared server I’ve been just dicking around on for three years, but I do.

I’ve been getting back into The Sims 3 now that weather has finally been added. Had to do a clean Sims install to get it to work, though.

The household I was playing got struck by lightning twice last night, first time started a fire. Don’t recall seeing that before.

I’ve started a game of Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition; wandering around in Beregost at the moment.

With the holiday sales season ended, it seems as good a time to revive this thread and see what goodies people are now invested in.

I’m playing through Borderlands, having never played it. I picked up BL2 but enough people said it was worth doing BL1 first for the carry-over characters that I figured I’d start from the beginning.

I can understand some people’s criticisms of the game as it really is the same thing over and over but I’m enjoying the mindless bandit killing and loot whoring. Playing a hunter and just hit level 30 (and defeated the Rakk hive) last night.

At the moment I’m alternating between Balder’s Gate Enhanced Edition and Geneforge 1. My graphics card is acting up, so I’m player older, low graphics intensity games until I get a new one.

I have Assassin’s Creed 3, and I loved all of the previous games, even the two Ezio sequels that got at least some bad press. But I can’t get into this one. It’s just so… slow and samey. It feels tedious so far, and the story seems to lack a bit of oomph.

I bought Skyrim for the Xbox over the holidays (it finally hit my target price of $30), and I’ve been playing it feverishly since then.

Been working on Dishonored for a couple weeks now, and having a lot of fun with it. There’s a lot of room to explore, and I love being sneaky. Not that I’m terrifcally good at being sneaky, but I like it anyway. Plus, I really dig the setting–this dark Industrial Revolution sort of thing, powered by (of all things) whale oil. Yesterday I realized I maybe needed a break when I was walking to work along Broadway, looking up at the buildings and thinking: yeah, I could totally blink up to that awning, and then from there over to that fire escape…

On the horizon, we have Metal Gear Rising: Revengence, which I’ll have to keep an eye on despite it starring Raiden. As it’s not a Kojima game, there’s some hope that it won’t turn into a series of power-point presentations like MGS4 did. And even further out, I pre-ordered Bioshock: Infinite with an amazon voucher I got from cashing in my change at the coinstar machine…

Started up Guild Wars 2 last night…spent 3 hours creating and deleting characters over and over again. Still haven’t “played” any of them. Ahh, bliss.

I’m playing through Super Meat Boy again. Heavens know why…maybe if I really needed to raise my blood pressure count, but other than that it’s not even doing anything for me. Ugh.

I picked up Forza Horizon for $30 on Amazon this week. I’m liking it, even though it is just Forza 4.1-Lite.

I’ve gone back to playing Europa Universalis 3. I go back to that game from time to time. Right now I’m trying to bring Austria to prominence, but it seems as if everyone is working against me. It doesn’t help that France is becoming huge. I need to shore up my base as soon as possible, as I’m pretty sure they’re going to attack within the next century. Luckily I’m the Holy Roman Emporer, so that gives me a decent manpower boost. I know that once that war comes (and it will), a lot of people are going to die.

And it doesn’t get any better, unfortunately. (And I’m one of the apparently few people that actually liked Revelations, though it was not up to the level of AssCreed 2 and Brotherhood.)

The protagonist is horrible. And boring. Ezio was fundamentally a character you could actually connect with. Connor just sucks. It’s a sign of a badly written game when you find yourself wishing you could play as the primary antagonist more than the actual hero.

As far as what I’m playing, after finishing off AssCreed 3 (early X-mas gift from Liz), I finished up LA Noire which I had taken a hiatus from due to lack of time, and I’m now playing Crysis. I also got Hitman: Absolution for X-mas, so I’ll probably fire that up at some point as well.
