What video game are you playing right now?

DwarfFort. I love my little ASCII dwarfs.

Civilization Revolution on PS3. Its Civ from the comfort of my couch. It is simplified a bit but still lots of fun. I think the graphics are a bit big, I keep wanting to zoom out more. But I’m used to 1680x1050 on PC.

Portal. Almost done, will do Portal 2 next.

Something else I just ran across; someone posted a clip on YouTube featuring all the available outfits for player characters (different clans & both genders gets a different array of skins for the various levels of armor). It also gives you a chance to see how the graphics look.

Red Orchestra 2 Multiplayer shooters don’t normally grab me - too hectic/twitchy. This one is great though, and has some new maps just released. I love a game that genuinely supports teamwork such as cover fire and flanking.

Hitman: Absolution. It came free with my video card so why not? I’ve heard reviews that it’s not as “good” or “pure” as the previous games but I haven’t played them and I’m enjoying this one. If they others are better, good for me since I’ll like them as well without thinking this one is lacking. I have Blood Money in my backlog anyway.

One thing though: the game takes place in Chicago and you spend much of the game evading the Chicago police. Except they all drive standard Hollywood black & white cruisers instead of the Chicago police cars. What’s worse is that they managed to put little Chicago flag patches on their jacket sleeves but they screwed up the cars

Well, I can’t seem to run Assassin’s Creed 3 right now (this is the major thing I’m bitching about), so, I guess it’s back to Mount and Blade or something? Maybe Total War?

Just now finishing off all the substories and minigames I didn’t get to in Yakuza 4 when I played through it.

In anticipation for Yakuza 5, or actually Ryu Ga Gotoku 5, since I’ll be attempting to play the Japanese version when it’s released.

Borderlands and Borderlands 2.

Doing a soldier game in the first one, with the (extremely mild) restriction that I only use combat rifles. Also playing the expansions for the first time, which are disappointing. I don’t see how I can do Mad Moxxi’s challenges solo, for example, and they don’t seem to pay off at all unless you do all 5 rounds, which is just tedious. And speaking of tedious, one of the Claptrap missions was “go collect 150 of this item”.

Playing the second one co-op with my wife. We haven’t got very far.

I’ve been playing Planetside 2. Its very good, like Unreal Tournament mixed with Bad Company 2, but massively multiplayer. However it likes to crash. So instead I played Bad Company 2.

I just bought War of the Roses. It’s on sale on Steam for fifteen clams. Didn’t I read in a thread somewhere about a Doper server?

So far so good. Most online games frustrate me so much - because I suck so bad at them - that I give up in short order. But I’ve enjoyed this one, in spite of the fact that I suck at it.

The thread on classic games had me download the free version of Star Control II, the Ur-Quan Masters. I don’t know how I missed this game the first go round. It looks familiar–I think a guy in my dorm freshman year used to play it–but I completely forgot about it. This is an amazingly well-written, immersive, and fun game so far.

just finished the walking dead, currently working on the new hitman and another playthrough of skyrim with an unarmed character.

I’m not gaming much at the moment. When I do play, I’ve been kind of half-heartedly working my way through Alan Wake. It’s fun for only brief play periods. The story is interesting and they did a nearly Silent Hill 2 job of creating scary atmosphere. Unfortunately, the game play itself is very repetitive and after about half an hour I’ve had enough of shining the flashlight on bad guys and then shooting them.

Finished Hitman just in time for Far Cry 3 to release today. My, that’s one pretty game.

Playing:

XCom Enemy Unknown - awesome squad based w/ RPG elements
The Walking Dead - on episode 4, light on action but blown away by story
Civ 5 G&K - expansion really REALLY improves game
World of Warcraft - never ending

On Deck:
Crusader Kings 2 - have had for over a month!
Starcraft 2 - just got it on black friday sale
GTA IV - Ballad of Gay Tony and Lost and the Damned
Torchlight 2 - damn you steam sales!
Saints Row 3 - soooo close to finishing

Backlog:
Batman: AC - sad I have not started this or even AA!
Diablo 3 - level 30 lol
Forza 4
Not buying yet because I do not have time and price will drop:
Far Cry 3
Borderlands 2

I’m playing a rotation of Team Fortress 2, I Wanna Be The Boshy, and Faerie Solitaire.

Link this mysterious thread of which you speak! I would like to bath in the glow of Star Control 2!

That wasn’t the one with clay animations… that was 3, right? :dubious:

Playing: Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition! (On PC of course, but eagerly awaiting the iPad edition.)

Back burner: SWTOR, The Secret World

** XCom Enemy Unknown** - I’ve played it quite a bit but I think last nights game was my last. It’s repetitive, the missions are all the same and the tactical weapons and strategies aren’t deep. It makes me miss the computer version in the same way XBox’s** Civilizatio: Revolutions** makes me miss Civ IV.

Gone back to solo board gaming, Fields of Fire and Ambush!
