I’d make an RPG in a setting kind of like Morrowind, in a world the size of Daggerfall, with the combat system of Mount&Blade and the graphics of Crysis.
Or I’d make a MMORPG set in an empty world where players have to make their own cities and houses and craft all tools/weapons etc themselves using the natural resources available. It would be interesting to see this world evolve from emptyness to camps with wooden shacks to magnificent cities. Also, this MMORPG would feature perma-death to spice things up.
So… I spend 3 months building up a business, contributing to the local community, payying taxes and always recycling… only for some 12 year old Korean kid and his virgin pals to undo all that in minutes?
I would want some level of insurance. Other than that, sweet, I’ll play.
If I could change the arcades, I would. Get rid of all the moronic “shooting gallery games” and “dodge the ____” games. Games that appeal to the 4 year old bully.
I recall when Atari started they had a few games that required strategy and rewarded thinking ahead instead of reflexes. But those are long gone.
