February 5, 2002: The Simpsons - The Complete First Season
Weezer’s Maladroit. One of my favorite albums of all time.
I still remember being impressed by how quickly it arrived.
Ethics in Psychology: Professional Standards and Cases. Sheer pleasure from cover to cover.

Didn’t work. Not really the big problem I’ve since found out. Whatever. But cool to look back, nonetheless.
Sassy, Single and Satisfied: Secrets to Loving the Life You’re Living
I never finished it.
“Douglas Adams’s Starship Titanic”, March 1998
Apparently the first time I used Amazon was to order a birthday gift for Mom.
September 2002: Kindred the Embraced - The Complete series.
I can’t believe that my first order was that recent, though. I was using ebay by 1999.
The first thing I ordered was several things…
Items:
* 1 of: Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid (20th anniversary edition with a new preface by the author)
* 1 of: Stop Thinking and Start Living
* 1 of: The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat
* 1 of: Introducing NLP Neuro-Linguistic Programming
* 1 of: Logitech Pilot Wheel Mouse Optical
Number 1 on that list. I still haven’t finished reading. It’s a big and complex book. I think number 2 on that list must have been rubbish because I don’t remember it.
And I still know next to nothing about NLP.
11/1/2001: Axe Victim
On my birthday in 1998 (I think I received a gift certificate):

* 1 of: The Halloween Man

It was a little sad, though, looking back and seeing toys I had ordered for my girls’ Christmas gifts. Playskool and Fisher Price stuff - now they’re pretty much just into electronics. Sometimes I miss the baby/toddler years.

February 3, 2000
Minnie and Moo Go to Paris
Maisy at the Farm
(for my daughter, not quite 3 at the time)
The Day I Swapped My Dad for 2 Goldfish (for my son, then 6)
The Tick : Mighty Blue Justice! (for Mama Zappa)
Mama Zappa was Amazoning for a couple of years at that point, but this was my first foray. The books were on my desk within 48 hours!!
According to Amazon’s website it was a copy of the Illiad on June 10, 1999.
I’m not sure that’s correct. I’m fairly certain it would have been back in 1998. I probably used a different logon that’ i’ve long forgotten.
The Art of Spirited Away - a Christmas present for my sister.
It doesn’t go back far enough to show the first thing I bought. The earliest thing I bought still listed was Beginning Visual Basic 6 in 1998. Then I didn’t buy anything in 1999, bought a shitload in 2000, and have bought very little since.

Season 2 of Buffy, in September of 2004. I’d just gone away to school, gotten a credit card, and was free to indulge my vampiric habits without my parent’s scorn.
