The Force Awakens
Once with wife. Then, I took my kids on Xmas vacation to see it.
Have a horse laugh on me:
The Blue Lagoon (Brooke Shields)
Blade Runner 2049. Saw it with my wife, then again with my friend who hadn’t seen it yet, also b/c we wanted to see something in “XD,” which is a kinda-sorta-IMAX-but-not-really format we wanted to try out.
The Hateful Eight, twice. First the regular print, then the 70mm version about a week later. Don’t think I’ve been to a movie since (except maybe ***Fury ***and The Imitation Game).
For me, it was Max Mad: Fury Road. Saw it with my wife, and then two days later with my wife and a friend. If a movie theater showed it again now, I’d probably go. It’s great on the big screen.
My wife was obsessed with Cuaron’s Gravity. She saw it 13 times (!!!) in the theater, most of them all by herself. I went twice, and the second time was mainly to keep her company, but that was it for me. Over the next couple of months, every so often she’d call out, “I’m going to see Gravity,” and head out the door. And she’s watched it at least that many times on Blu-Ray too.
I’ve only done it twice. Jurassic Park, which I regretted because it only emphasised the flaws and I have disliked that movie ever since. And The Force Awakens when my housemate wanted to see it and I was excited to go again. Unfortunately my housemate is an idiot who talks through movies so that was upsetting.
Aye; that was my last multiple-theatre-viewings movie. I saw it 3 times on the big screen, IIRC (and have watched it at least a dozen times at home).
The Tree of Life - during its original run, and then as part of a year-end showcase.
Avengers: Infinity War. Saw it opening weekend, then again the next weekend, when some friends were visiting from out of town, and wanted to see it.
Probably Fantasia 2000, in IMAX both times. I saw it alone as part of a conference (they rented out the theater), then saw it with my wife and daughter.
Ah, yes.
Machete
From October 2017 through October 2018 I saw three separate presentations of Dawn of the Dead (1978), the last time was in Pittsburgh in 3D.
^ ::quaking with envy::
Return of the King, once alone and once with my brother who couldn’t make it opening night.
When my daughter was acting in an industrial in Stamford Connecticut, she for some reason wanted to see a movie after she finished work, and the only movie she wanted to see was a kids movie called “3 Ninjas.” It was no better the second time. When my wife took over she got to see it also.
Before that Empire Strikes Back and Stars Wars twice in the original edition and once each in the revised edition, if that counts. And before that 2001 many, many times.
I’m a frequent multi-viewer; if it’s something that will work better on the big screen, I’ll get my fill of it when it’s in theaters and likely not see it again when it streams. The last thing I saw was Spider-Mn: Into the Spider-Verse. I caught an early preview at AMC a couple of weeks before release, and later at a discount theater.
The Carey Mulligan version of “Far from the Madding Crowd”, way back in 2015. Haven’t watched many movies of any sort since then; everything in my area is either a comic book movie or a depressing Oscar bait flick.
On second thought, it would be 2001. I saw it when it originally came out and then a few months ago when the “new” 70mm version was released to celebrate the film’s 50th anniversary.
star wars at the drive in and theatres …and the special editions … pulp fiction seen it by my self and then took various friends and family members for the shock value several times ……
oddly enough I have never seen ROTJ in a theater … I missed the original and special edition showing ……
