When the Lion King was redone in 3D, I saw it in the theater, even though I had seen it at home. Definitely worth the price of a ticket.
The Last Jedi - First time since 1983 I saw a Star Wars film more than once in a theatre.
As a 70s child/80s teen, I saw lots of the era’s blockbusters multiple times in those pre-VCR days. Plus I had multiple friends that worked at a multiplex (which at the time meant a whole 6 screens!) and seeing a movie was the default activity if you couldn’t think of anything else to pass the time. I notice a severe drop off in repeat theatrical viewing in the early 90s - between the home video window shrinking to about 6 months and having a real time-consuming job there was less incentive to not just wait for the video. I think “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on its original run was the last time for over 2 decades. I had talked a friend into accompanying me to a second showing of John Water’s “Serial Mom” after its opening weekend, but it was gone after one week.
I just remembered that besides ROTJ, I’ve also seen Titanic twice in the theater, and that’s the most recent theater repeat for me. I saw it during it’s first run, and we went to see it during it’s 20th anniversary re-release about a year ago.
Other than that, I don’t normally watch movies in the theater more than once because I don’t go out to theaters all that often so I’m looking for something new. At home, there are many films I’ve seen multiple times.
Depending on whether you count the re-release of Star Wars as a separate from the original, ether that or Beauty and the Beast the original Disney.
The Avengers. Saw it once alone, then once with my husband when he got back from a business trip.
I would have been able to say this, but I absolutely loved one movie* this winter, and went back with friends (who then went and saw it a second time by themselves or with other friends). We’re all in our 50s and 60s, by the way…

Das Kabinet (The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari) a few months ago. It had a live soundtrank provided by local musicians we both like.
A couple of months before that we went to see 2001 again, which I think makes 4 times on the big screen for me, and more for my partner…
I really liked “de ontdekking van de hemel” (“the Discovery of Heaven”) by Mulish as a book. So when they made it into a movie with some of my favorite actors (Krabbé, Fry) I really wanted to like it. The first time I fell asleep, I thought that was because I was very tired. The second time I nodded off again, again I blamed the beers of the previous night. The third time when I was woken by my date when the movie was finished I started to have doubts. The fourth time I decided it just was boring as hell as a movie, no matter how much I liked the book.
The only movie I saw multiple times(3) in a theatre because I thought it was awesome is “Trainspotting”. Maybe I should read the book:)
I feel like I should get in touch with my high school girlfriend*, and apologize for all the movies we saw together. Geez, couldn’t I have thought of some more interesting dates? A group of us would meet at her house on weekend nights and… open up the movie listings.
When we’d seen every movie we were even remotely interested in, someone would say “So, Butch Cassidy again?” Saw it eight times in eight weeks, all in the same little theater.
*easily done, she married my best friend.
It was in the year 2000—either Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or O Brother, Where Are Thou?. They were both showing around the same time.
I think it was the first Lord of the Rings movie. I had watched it with my mom and stepdad, then a couple weeks later I treated a coworker and her husband. They really wanted to see it, but the husband was out of work at the time and they couldn’t justify the expense, so I offered.
I went to see Serenity, Inception, and Star Trek First Contact multiple times. Maybe as many as five times for the first two.
Life of Pi. saw it, then had to take my wife. Visually stunning.
