The American media, run by Zionists and pro-Israel sympathizers, gets to see CNN journalists’ “trauma” as they have to go into a shelter to protect themselves from Iranian missiles (never mind Israel started the whole fucking war against Iran to begin with). When do these same CNN (or any other puppet US media) go into Gazan shelters (there are none) or shelters in Tehran?
Anyone who can’t see how fucking horribly biased the US is in favor of Israel is blind.
So anyway, Spiderman just started a thread which turns out to be about him being upset that a DA didn’t seek the death penalty for an 18 year old murderer. Yikes.
Why is it that in Factual Question threads, within a couple posts people start responding with opinions? The one I most recently recall is the one asking for things which have been medically proven to speed up healing. Within a few posts, people were throwing in “I wash it!” and “I like Bag Balm!” I mean, it’s easy to forget which category you’re in, but if you had even read the OP it was explicitly stated that they wanted “scientifically proven” and “legitimate peer reviewed materials”.
oddly. I’ve gotten used to such diversions even when I ask specifics. You should dig up my post from years ago about what the biggest field was. It was a shit-show or responses.
FQ has lost a lot of its discipline and élan since the early days.
Discourse does make it easy to browse the Dope not via the categories. That plus folks on phones w themes that hide the category once you’ve scolled past the OP make that an easy mistake to make.
Yes, i find it very hard to keep track of what category I’m in. There’s a reason i give a ton of mod notes and almost no warnings for inappropriate posts in breaking news threads.
My understanding of the current attitude toward FQ posts is that the question must be factually answered - but once that has happened, if people want to shoot the breeze about the topic, it’s okay.
I am guilty of random, “that reminds me of …” posts in FQ, but I don’t make them until the factual answer is plainly stated.
@needscoffee: do those types of posts bother you even if they occur AFTER the factual answer has been presented?
The current rule is that they’re allowed after the question has been sufficiently answered, which doesn’t bother me a bit. In the thread I linked to, that wasn’t even close.
Of course , that’s tons of evidence that aloe vera works. There’ve been hundreds of clinical studies, and as best as i can tell, most found aloe vera helps in healing:
You know, when i notice that a thread is in factual questions, i usually try to avoid it. I clearly don’t agree with some here on what counts as evidence, and it’s just not worth the hassle.
