Once again I have never read anything by Zoobi, so once again I am going, “who?”, likely because I mostly avoid political threads anymore…

I’ve been taken to task here one time not too long ago. I reckon I cleared the air with the “original poster” or whatever that would be called in what I called a quasi-pit thread.
There were some other comments about me that I didn’t take personally. Nothing I reckon too offensive - I don’t believe anyone totally dislikes me. Nor does everyone need to like me. Yet I prefer a thread like this where minor grievances and opinions of others are aired. I doubt we’ll ever have a thread (till this post) where someone quotes Hanover Smith (Heavy Metal), paraphrasing Shakespeare (Macbeth)

But yes, better to keep whatever thread on track, air the grievance and move on. Not that I’m anywhere close to being immune to nursing grudges and lashing out myself, so, stones and glass houses and all.

Father from a village in mainland China, came to US for college (somehow), became a citizen, then worked in Taiwan for a decade-plus. Met & married Taiwanese Mom there, then had baby Reply there too. Eventually they came / came back to the USA where they’ve remained. Reply seemingly feels himself mostly culturally American.
As poured out in that thread, lotta ways to feel sorta like a one of a kind semi-outsider with that background.
