What were your parent's crushes?

My Pop had such a thing for Myrna Loy.

(And…so do I! I want a girl just like the girl who was lusted on by dear old dad!)

My dad had to think for a bit, but he came up with Kim Novak.

My mom’s crush when she was a teen was Warren Beatty. Dad never had one particular crush while growing up. He did like Linda Carter in the 70’s and Catherine Zeta Jones a decade ago.

Mom–Leonard Nimoy.

My mom had a thing for Christopher Plummer in The Sound of Music.

In the 70s, my mother had crushes on Robert Goulet, Omar Sharif, and Richard Chamberlain. (This thread made me curious, so I googled images of them, and I agree, very attractive men.)

Sometime between 2005 - 2008, she told me, “Keanu Reeves is a very handsome man, and that Johnny Depp is just hot!

I don’t remember anyone for my father.

No idea about my late dad, though he seemed like a Farrah Fawcett kind of guy.

My mom, on the other hand…she had the biggest crush on George Michael forever. I tried to tell her, but she wouldn’t listen to me. :stuck_out_tongue: Later on she had a thing for Mel Gibson. I think she mentioned having a thing for Kacey (of the Sunshine Band) when she was younger, and Travolta (who my dad looked a lot like).

My grandparents liked Sophia Loren, John Wayne, and Jerry Orbach, to name a few. I don’t know how much those would be considered crushes.

That wouldn’t be my mom…

I wasn’t going to post, because my parents’ crushes were Indian, but I thought you guys might like to see some of the goodlooking guys and gals of yesteryear anyway.

My mom was born in 44 and my dad in 42, so they came of age in the sixties.

Mom’s crushes:

Shammi Kapoor, he of the golden eyes and extremely light skin

Dilip Kumar

Dharmendra

Dad’s crushes:

Asha Parekh, who had the doe-eyed look down pat

Sharmila Tagore

Helen, who did cabaret! And wore skimpy clothing!

While I am here, I also must link to the beauty queen Madhubala, who tragically died far too young, at only age 36.

Mom: Tom Selleck, Alex Trebek (mustachioed) and George was her favorite Beatle

Dad: Catherine Zeta Jones, Jennifer Grey (as Baby)

I think my paternal grandmother, an old (even when she was young) South Dakota dirt farmer’s wife, really liked Lawrence Welk.

Mom and Dad were so freaking terrified of sex that they never mentioned any celebrity crushes.

Dad’s Mom, however, was hot for Clark Gable; like several other moms and grandmas here.

Trinopus: Myrna Loy is an excellent choice. Did you know she modeled for a “perfect female form” statue in front of Venice High School BEFORE she became a movie star?

I just asked my mom, she says she loved Rock Hudson, of course the general public didn’t know he was gay then.
Also,
Robert Redford
Kevin Costner
Don Johnson
James Dean
Ryan O’Neal

My dad, as a young teenager, liked Jean Harlow. My mom liked one of the 50s TV Cowboys, maybe Clint Eastwood or maybe Clint Walker.

Mine, too. She played guitar, and used to drive my grandparents nuts by playing Elvis.

I have a photo of my father looking a lot like Robert Redford (hereand here). Same gorgeous blonde hair, and the only time my dad had his hair “long” (i.e., not a military-approved haircut).

My mom had a crush on Tom Netherton. Still does, actually.
