What will be in Trump’s “Large, Detailed, but Irrefutable REPORT?”

Backup for Nars_Ginley’s post: Trump cancels news conference to release report on 2020 election | Reuters

Next step: “Send me money so my lawyers can put this I&OEOEF&I in formal Legal Filings!”

ETA: Put that way, it almost sounds like “Old McDonald.”

He does realize (or maybe he doesn’t) that even if he had irrefutable evidence of rigging, that has zero to do with the charges against him? He could prove all he wants that GA vote totals were wrong - he still broke the law with his attempts to “fix it”.

Thanks for that update. I note also that in the ravings of the marginally illiterate Orange Menace, the “REPORT” has now been downgraded to the less exciting “Report”.

Any bets on how much of the REPORT (or, possibly, Report) will ever see the light of day in any courtroom, if making the reasonable assumption that Trump’s learned counsel wishes to stay out of jail?

Somewhere between 0% and 0.000%.

I have to agree with Smapti. Trump can tell his lawyers to include Points A, B, and C from his report in a filing, and they would know how to craft it in such a way that they don’t. Lots of legalese, and Latin, and big words, and so on. With his attention span and hatred of reading pretty much anything, then even if he does try to read it, he won’t be able to, and thus he will never notice.

Darn it! I was looking forward to finally seeing all the irrefutable evidence of fraud. Stupid lawyers spoiling all of my fun.

How much money does he think his MAGA faithful have? Busch Lite and chicken fingers don’t grow on trees ya’ know.

All the crimes he and the conspiracy committed would still be crimes regardless of whether he proved beyond a shadow of a doubt he won the election.

I’m pretty sure his lawyers never agreed to include anything from his stupid bullshit reports in any court filing. I’m pretty sure they’ve let him know repeatedly that proving he really won is a non-starter of a defense.

And I’m pretty sure Trump doesn’t like it when he hears that.

The technique is classic Trump. When you are losing the argument because your position is stupid, publicly announce that the other person has agreed to do what you want. He pulled the same stunt with Pence.
It’s a stupid tactic and it never works, but Trump keeps doing it.

I can pretty much guarantee that what happened was the following. After what must have been a monumental effort by his expasperated lawyers, they finally managed to somehow hammer into Trump’s thick orange skull the fact that repeating his election lies once again was going to seriously undermine any possible defense and increase the probability of him winding up in jail, possibly before the Georgia trial even starts. They undoubtedly advised him for the thousandth time to STFU and let the lawyers handle how things play out in court.

I’m imagining at this point that a sort of dim lightbulb briefly flickered in whatever passes for a brain behind that orange visage, because that could be made to sound like the REPORT was going to be presented in its full 100-page glory to the judge and jury at the Georgia trial, and that this would be fully believed by the slack-jawed simpletons that he fleeces.

I’ll agree with that. As I see things, Trump himself thought of two possible outcomes to this so-called irrefutable report:

(1) He’ll hold his press conference and rehash all the stuff that has been rebuffed by courts, proven false by videos, phone recordings, and January 6 testimony, and otherwise has no basis in reality. But this time, he has to be believed, because all this is irrefutable despite his previous losses at what? Sixty-some courts? But anyway, prosecutors and courts in all jurisdictions will be in such awe of this particular report that they will throw up their hands, and say, “You got us, Mr. – uh, we mean President Trump. All charges withdrawn. Steps are being taken to remove Mr. Biden from the White House immediately.”

(2) He never prepared a report, and never expected to hold a press conference to present it. He just said that he did and would. Because he knows that that brings in the cash from the rubes. Truth is, that there was no report at all. He then gets to blame his lawyers (those damn lawyers) for not letting him present his irrefutable but non-existent report, while he remains the brightest star in the MAGA universe; thus fleecing the MAGAts for yet more money.

I’m thinking that Scenario Number 2 is more likely.

Edit: I see that my exciting news has already been shared.!

the news shows last night were interesting. there was a mix of amusement “ha,ha classic trump”, and “of course he canceled”, and amazment “he is listening to his lawyers??!”

they would bounce between a version of the three. much tea leaf reading going on wondering if the reality of the situation is finally hitting him, and his lawyers perhaps breaking through to him. most thought this will not last long.

But if he believes it works, then he is justified to keep using it?

And meanwhile still giving him unlimited free publicity.

Should I add a “Cancelled by Trump” to the subject of the thread?

Somewhere between i % and -∞ %.

Haven’t you ever seen an action movie? No matter how much property damage the hero causes, how many people he kills while evading the police - once he captures the bad guy and shows that he was falsely accused all is forgiven.

NBC said Trump said on TruthSocial yesterday his irrefutable evidence will be in legal filings. I don’t get how that benefits him really.
