I don’t know why, but I always have trouble with necessarily
:smack:
Honistly, I’m not a terible spellar.
Occurred. Or ocurred… wait, no, it’s occur, so it’d be occured … huh, one sec while I look this up.
Every other word, though, just comes out naturally and feels wrong if I mistype it.
I have to think really hard before I type “tomorrow”. Inevitably, I put in an extra “m”.
“villain” seems to be a new addition to this list as well. Stupid vowels.

“theorectical” instead of “theoretical.”
Anything with “ei” or “ie” in it. For some reason I just can’t be bothered to recite the rule in my head… I just blaze on through and count on spellcheck to keep the rules straight.
Broccoli.
I also grew up in a French community, so now that I’m in an English world, I still feel have problems with apartment/appartement, government/gouvernement, development/developpement… stuff like that.
You hit the nail on the head, Broodha… I can never get necessarily right, no matter how hard I try to learn it. I always mix up the c’s and s’s… No other word causes such problems.
I have a real problem with its/it’s. It’s awful (did I get that right?). I also chronically misspell “wierd.” I remember, when I was a kid away at summer camp, my friend Becca writing to me and asking me to use “strange” instead, because my frequent misspelling drove her nuts.
I always have a brain-fart when it comes to across or is it accross?
Same with adress or is it address?
alwasy
and teh
and becasue
This only happens on computers, not in real life.
:smack:
oppurtunity…opportunity. i still don’t know which one it is. oh well:smack:
misspell<-----that’s how you spelled it
nescasary

separate or seperate, I always have to look it up.
I also have to be careful not to write reasearch or beacause.
For me, privilege trips me up (I went to dictionary.com just to make sure I’d spell it right in this post.) I usually end up spelling it privelege..
Occasion is another one. I get mixed up on whether it’s one O and two Ss or vice versa.
I’ll second Ino’s mention of various forms of occur, such as occurrence, occurred, etc.
I’m lobbying Congress to have the official spelling of “safety” changed to “saftey” because that’s how I always spell it. It’s a good thing spell checker is there to save my ass or there would have been a prominent headline in Saturday’s paper about a “playground saftey survey.”
Well, necessary and guarantee for starters. I copied the former, looked up the latter.
I can’t spell for nothin’.
Technical is always techincal.
I have problems knowing when to stop repeating letters i.e bananana, rememember, probabably etc.
