What would be your theme song?

BOOYEAH!!!

And the men who spurred us on
sit in judgement of all wrong
they decide and the shotgun sings the song

Mancini’s “Peter Gunn” theme.

Blind Melon’s “No Rain” is rather fitting.

Several possibilities…

But, I’d probably say either:

The End Theme from Hamburger Hill, or

I Can’t Stop Loving You by Ray Charles.

Ranchoth
(Or maybe the theme to The Last Valley)

Mine:

You Can’t Always Get What You Want by The Rolling Stones.

Story of my life, sometimes.

After driving home just a few minutes ago, listening to the radio, I think I’d have to say “Twilight Zone” by Golden Earring. If nothing else, then just for the bass track.

Bob Seeger’s “Her Strut” Hey a girl can dream, can’t she?
Alternatively, I’ll go with Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”

May I suggest Squeezebox by The Who?

Decembe 1963 (Oh What a Night) by the 4 Seasons

I’ll pick Dire Straits’ Heavy Fuel

Last time I was sober, man I felt bad
Worst hangover that I ever had
It took six hamburgers and scotch all night
Nicotine for breakfast just to put me right

'cos if you wanna run cool
If you wanna run cool
If you wanna run cool, you got to run
On heavy, heavy fuel
Heavy, heavy fuel
Heavy, heavy fuel

My chick loves a man who’s strong
The things she’ll do to turn me on
I love the babes, don’t get me wrong
Hey, that’s why I wrote this song

At this point in my life, I’d say it’s Social Distortion, “Down On The World Again”:

The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy) , by Simon and Garfunkel.

Whenever I’m in over my head, stressed, or unhappy, I play that song (even if only in my head) and I’m instantly better.

Moody Blues “Nights in White Satin” and Alan Parsons Project “Old and Wise”

I’m gettin’ hosed by the whole “context is everything” problem.

When driving, practically any version of “Red” by King Crimson.

If frustrated at work, “Exactly What You Wanted” by Helmet (from Aftertaste).

If philosophical, “Bigger Picture” by the Waterboys (from Room To Roam).

Oh, the hell with it. I’ll take an instrumental and hope it works in most cases: Raymond Scott’s “The Penguin” (most easily found on Music of Raymond Scott: Reckless Nights & Turkish Twilights).

“Feelin’ Alright,” by whatshisname.

That tune by Ennio Morricone at the climax of ‘the Good the Bad and the Ugly’.
I think it’s called ‘Trio’. Awesome tune.

Dave Mason wrote it, Joe Cocker made it famous.

Blood and Roses by The Smithereens

Okay, this is really dorky. But when I was younger, I used watch Late Night and imagine being a guest and what song I would want Paul to play when I walked over to Dave’s desk. I’m very embarrassed to admit that. :o

Anyway, the song was “Do You Know What I Mean”, for the same reason as Sol Grundy had for his song (very cool song, BTW)–not because the lyrics are relevant to my personality, but it’s just a cool-sounding song.

Mine would be:

“They’re Coming to Take Me Away”

…now get that song out of your head…
