“Sister Madly” by Crowded House. Not sure why. I play it when I’m getting stoked up for a big presentation. It always works.
Great choice, Sublight. And thanks for the (indirect) recommendation; I just looked on the iTunes Music Store and saw that Electric Samurai by Tomoyasu Hotei has been added. From what I’ve heard so far, it’s just awesome. Ever since I saw Kill Bill, I’ve wanted to find a whole album like “Battle Without Honor or Humanity”, and this is basically that. Not quite as “large,” like you say, but the same spirit. And three versions of that song! The other Hotei stuff I’ve heard is a lot more pop/rock than this. I’m loving it.
I wonder if it’s a semi-soundtrack from Samurai Fiction (which I also saw based on your recommendation), or a completely unrelated project. I could never find the SF soundtrack.
Uh, sorry for the hijack.
Lets start a club because me too!
My song would be Blue Monday by New Order (for night time!)
And because I believe I’ve got just the right amount of swing and swagger in my high heeled step, Little Green Bag by the George Baker Selection.
Ooh, hard to make up my mind. First thought would be Steely Dan’s “Almost Gothic”. But then, when I think of how theme songs are usually instrumental only, I would go with something heavy on the acoustic guitar, maybe Hot Tuna’s “Water Song” or the Allman Brothers’ “Little Martha”.
Rico, you took mine.
That’s ok though, Soulful Strut really does fit me better (the oldie instrumental version, I don’t know the artist off the top of my head)
I’m going to go with *Yackity Sacks * from the Benny Hill Show.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, it’s actually the ringtone that rings when any of my girlfriends call me on my mobile. It’s more of our group theme song.
Individually, I’d have to say Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac, but then some of you may have guessed that.
“Overture” from The Who’s Tommy.
It’s my first musical memory. I was born the year the album came out and my dad apparently played it loudly and incessantly for the first three or four years of my life. To further compound things they took me to see that damn Ken Russell film when I was six.
And they named me Tommy.
