What'cha gonna buy me in the MMP?

I don’t think deviled aig trays are a thing in SW PA – they’re certainly not required for the creation of a lawful union. On the other hand, it’s not a legitimate bingo game without pierogies and halushki.

So, as I mentioned earlier, GC & I had breakfast (without a chaperone!) & had A Talk. I’m happy that I got the response I most expected - he’s not quite ready for more but he’s interested and wants to keep hanging out with me (the other 2 options were “hell no, never” and “I’m ready”). He also mentioned in passing that he has told a few other people that he’s seeing someone - which I didn’t expect because he just doesn’t seem like the type to have mentioned it to others if we’re only friends. We also shared more information about our relationships with our spouses, etc. It was a very good conversation.

Now I just have to figure out what to do about FWB …

For my final follow up appointment, I see my Cardiologist. He ordered a stress test before the surgery and monitored me through the surgery. He just wants to do a post surgery follow up. This will be the first time since surgery that I am going to drive.

The adventure continues

Just had a GoToMeeting at irk.

Anyone taking vacation, and planning on being with more than five people, will not be allowed back into the orifice for seven days and must irk remotely. We’re not going anywhere, but the more telecommuting, the better.

Speaking of telecommuting, remember back in 2013 when the Skagit River Bridge collapsed and I had to make large detours to get to the orifice? Well… It got hit by a truck again. It didn’t fall down this time, but it will be closed pending a formal evaluation.

I’d gladly work from home tomorrow, only I have a salad in the orifice fridge; and a selection of cheeses I need to bring home. (FWIW: Four-year-old cheddar (2), Beecher’s cheddar, and triple-cream brie.)

Happy anniversary FCM and FCD!!! Wow, four weeks of dating. That seems very short, but on the other hand, I was quite sure I was going to marry Mrs W after less time than that. We just took longer to make it official. You both clearly made the right decision!

Wheelie, it was sorta quicker than that, really. On our 2nd date he told me I was going to marry him - didn’t ask. And my reaction was “Well, yeah…” The main delay was getting the blood tests done. Dunno if it’s still required, but it was in Florida in 1983.

Back from a quick bout of babysitting. SIL was only gone about 30 minutes. I did manage to get Roxy down for a nap, but that was pretty much it. in about half an hour, I’ll dump the carrots into the slow cooker and start peeling the spuds. We’ll leave around 4:30 to meet up with the three of them before heading across the Patuxent River to see the pretty pretty lights! Then home for a later-than-usual dinner of pot roast.

Tomorrow, the pellet stove fixer is supposed to be here between 10 & 2. Hope he doesn’t have to order any parts. I want it to be warm in here, dammit, without burning a metric buttload of heating oil. So fingers crossed. Then on Firday, our furnace will get its semi-annual once-over servicing. I’ll have Roxy here because SIL has to go to Annapolis to turn in the equipment from his second job, which ends tomorrow. Busy coupla days…

Howdy Y’all! I went and got my do did and then made a trip to Sam’s cause twuck needed fuel and I wanted to get some laundry detergent, since I forgot to do so last week whilst there. Anywho, I passed this display of big jars of cheese balls. Suddenly I was possessed by MetalMouse and before I knew it I was at the self checkout with laundry detergent and a big jar of cheese balls! OK, and some chawklit chip cookies. I was possessed by myself when I put the cookies in the cart. In other news, OYKW went to the Pubic Sto’ and we had shrimpies 'n grits with steamed spareguts for sup.

HAPPY FAIRYCHATIVERSARY!!! :wedding: :bride_with_veil: :couple: :tada: :confetti_ball: :bell: :bell: :bell:

swampy, I haven’t been to Wal-Mart in a couple of weeks, so temptation has been relatively easy to avoid (other stores have the jars with other snacks; Wal-Mart here puts a huge display of them right out in the main aisle). My brand here is Utz. Enjoy.

Been outside three times to check for the mail (still nothing, so will check again tomorrow morning). Do need to go out tomorrow and drop off my slacks to the Dry Cleaners, so I have that to look forward to.

FCM, I spend a lot of time in the ‘office’ room, which is the farthest from the furnace in the attic, so the coolest room in the house. I bought a $30 room heater and so far it has done it’s duty admirably. Will see if it affect my gas bill in about 2 weeks.

And you’re another day older and deeper in debt, I reckon…

OK, need to see if my planned-for cheeseburger has thawed out enough to commence proceedings. All y’all have a good night.

Supper last night was steak & eggs (over easy for me), prepared by the housemate. Tonight we’re having turkey-end-avocado sandwiches.

Back from viewing the lights. It was a really nice display, but with temps in the mid-30s, I was wishing I’d worn gloves. Plus my glasses kept steaming up - masks were required. Home for pot roast, and now with full tummies, we shall chill warmly.

I’m thinking it’ll be a wine night.

Make sure you bring a glass for the cat Johnny. :stuck_out_tongue:

Happy anniversary Moooooooom and FCD!

No drag racing *hippy. :stuck_out_tongue:

Irk went well today. The aggravation began once I got home. We will be beginning to self report temps and such Friday. This may be done over the phone or by the app. However, the directions for setting up one’s self on the app lacked information about what our login and password should be. It’s not like I can take my phone to my desk and ask a cow-orker what the deal is (we can’t carry personal cells beyond security). That was the second aggravation. The first was that I pulled into the USPS about the time they were closing the grill for the counter. The Xmas stamps still haven’t arrived and I’d like to get my cards out. It’s beginning to piss me right off.

Since I farted around with the app so long, I still need to pay bills before chilling in the studio.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

I walked to World Market, as they’re the only place that has the big bottles of sugar-free flavoring for coffee, which I use in my tea, since I’m all wild and rebellious like that. I got three, which should last me awhile. I wanted to get a new mug since I broke one recently, but all the ones they had were ugly or boring. I like happy mugs.

Then I walked to the store for salad stuff but got tempted into buying shrimp, which was on sale. No grits, though. And no cheese balls.

Happy Anniversary, FCM and FCD! You’re proof that when you know, you know.

You know, with all this talk about supper, when Red said,

My first thought was, they grill food at the USPS?
“I’ll have the grilled snapper.”
“First class or Priority Meal?”

Apologies – I seem to have missed this question earlier.

Chandelier of some sort, I think, lowered almost to floor level for lighting. Other photos show them (there are at least six) raised up to the level of the topmost shelves on the balcony.

Duly noted. So have you signed up for the SDMB secret holiday exchange yet, hint, hint?

You weren’t the only one. I’d like a French dip sandwich on a baguette and hand cut fries.

Just finished dinner: salmon baked with kosher salt and tarragon, and green beans with butter on them. I had a bourbon with it, since I didn’t get a drink before dinner. Mrs. L.A. didn’t want the rest of the green beans, so I atem-up-yum.

Flyboy, that bridge has been jinxed for decades. Hell, I’ve driven over it enough over the years I can feel the bad juju.

Plus Q13 FOX can’t spell worth a shit.

Apparently, if you go to the big opening under the dome and look around the corner, you see this:

(Getty Images being difficult.)

nellie, I would take my chances with Grub Hub or the like with the luck I’ve had with the post office lately. :stuck_out_tongue:

Be still, my heart. Now I REALLY want to haunt that place when I die, though since I went there, this is a strong contender:

If there were more books there instead of in a warehouse in Virginia, I’d start moving in now. Maybe I should move into the warehouse.

I have not. I forgot about it, and now I don’t want to schlep to the USPS again. I’ll settle for the happy mugs of my fellow Mumpers.
