What'cha gonna buy me in the MMP?

@Johnny_LA

No flies on you…I expected no less.

nut, houses like the ones in a neighborhood in Charlevoix, MI, USA? Hobbit houses I used to love going there and discovering ones that I’d not seen before when on family vacations.

bumba, you sound a bit like me. I carried a Samsung Galaxy S4 for a number of years until I bought a smart car that it didn’t talk to very well. Nothing wrong with the phone itself, but it didn’t have the software needed to consistantly sync with my car. I replaced it with a Galaxy 10.

Irked, got home before dark, walked the dog, swept the floors and et supper. Now for KP and working on a project in the studio.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Worked the usual double, came home, napped. Now I’m up, caffeinated, and sheveled and ready to sort. I made Five Spice fish with rice and cauliflauwer with black bean and garlic sauce for dinner.

As far as custom houses, as long as the kitchen is pro quality, and there’s a bar in the living room, I’m good.

It puts the lotion on its skin, or it get the hose.

Flyboy, good that they still did something for you.

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and sup got et. Forgot the other big excitatement of the day, the bug man came to do his make sure there are no bugs thang this mornin’. How do I keep up such a pace!

A bar in every nook I say!

i’d like some more wine, but there’s a cat laying on me.

Flyboy, are you my wife? Because she says that to me quite often. And then guess who gets up to pour the wine?

(Spoiler alert: not the cat.)

Adding on a butler to pour Ms. Wheelie’s wine and to open a new bottle and place it within easy reach of fly boy. Make mine French press Costa Rican before 3 pm and Coke Zero afterwards.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 32 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 65 and N.O.S. for the day. I slept through the night, but was awoken by my bladder just after five, so I decided just to be up. Today we must lay in provisions and I want, nay need, a haircut. I suppose I could be nice and say I’ll go to the Pubic Sto’ myself after I get my haircut. The haircut place does not open until nine and if’n I get there right then, I can usually get in and out in ten minutes. If’n OYKW wants to go to the sto’ just to get outta da cave, then I’m good with that as well. We shall see. Whoever goes will purchase shrimpies as shrimpies ‘n grits is on the menu for sup. This bein’ due to a gnawin’ and a cravin’ on both our parts. Thus is the plan of the day.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas, alack, woe, and bother, I suppose I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life is just so difficult!

Happy Hump Day Y’al!

Happy Anniversary to me and my sweetie! It was 37 years ago today that we eloped over lunch, having dated a whopping 4 weeks. As soon as the legalities were dispensed with, we drove thru McD’s to grab some food before heading back to the base, because I had to be part of a court martial that afternoon.

How womantic!!! :two_hearts: :two_hearts: :two_hearts: :two_hearts:

And here we are today - almost both retired, grandparents, still driving each other crazy.

No special plans. We are going with Roxy and her parents to see lights at Annemarie Garden then we’ll probably grab something to-go and bring it home for supper. And it’s not just because of the plague - we rarely ever did anything for our anniversary. My sibs were aghast that we pretty much ignored our 25th. Just not something we make a big deal about.

Anyway, Happy Wednesday!!

Happy anniversary! 37 sounds like you’re off to a good start!

We went to Hardee’s, and then Lady SCAdian left for a job interview. After she came back from that we went on base to do the paperwork at PSD. The PNs were amazed – they’d never had newlyweds come in on the actual wedding day before.

That’s pretty much the look I’d like, yep. Maybe a bit more grass on the roof. I would like a good, well stocked cellar as well, but I think they come as default with hobbit holes.

Today is mainly going to be spent feebly toying at tidying up and increasingly frantically looking at Christmas presents online, because no way am I braving the madness in local shops right now.

Just to be clear, it was a kid who worked for me was being court-martialed. He ended up being booted out of the Navy. Kid had problems and he was junior enough that the Navy didn’t have much invested in him, so had no reason to try to straighten him out.

And on that note, I’m about to head to Food Lion. I’m going to do a crock pot-roast for supper, and I need some ingredients. Plus Diet Coke. So, onward!!!

Happy anniversary, FCM & FCD! Here’s to many more.:clinking_glasses:

Ruble and I got married at Penn’s Colony colonial festival, under the huge dining tent because it was pouring rain (the original plan had been to use the main stage). At one point in the ceremony, the minister had just said something when there was a HUGE clap of lightning and thunder. He pointed to the sky and said “See, God agrees!” Afterwards, I asked Ruble what he thought. He said “I was just waiting to be told to kiss something!” :slightly_smiling_face:

We were together so long before we finally made it legal that most of our friends originally thought it was just a renewal of vows. We had to actually show a few of them the license because they didn’t believe us.

And now I’m heading out to have breakfast with GC – no coasters and no chaperone!!

Back when I was in college, there was no such thing as “bad pizza.” Now, there is indeed such a thing and I made the very unfortunate mistake last night of eating quite a bit of it. I was very, very hungry, having not eaten a proper meal at all yesterday, so was looking forward to a big one at dinner; I also worked out for 40 minutes, which always makes me hungry. When my husband ordered one of St. Louis’s finest wafer-thin cracker-type pizzas, I was delighted. But we got budget St. Louis pizza, not the good stuff. And I woke up this morning pretty sure my insides were being twisted up in some gigantic fist. They’ve since calmed the heck down, but that wasn’t fun.

Now for the coffee. And then to give my mom a ride to her radiology simulation. Despite her infection, she’s still on track to start in just two and a half short weeks. Her feeding tube was removed yesterday afternoon and her first request was a trip to Starbucks. Then the glass guys are coming this afternoon. I keep threatening to break another window in a coffee-making extravaganza, but I think that’s a one-time only thing. If I do it too many times my husband will grok to the idea that I’m really just trying to get a new kitchen. Maybe I should target a cabinet instead.

Morning all. 38F this morning when I rescued the newspaper from the sidewalk, heading for a balmy 62F later today. Nothing much on the schedule as I did laundry yesterday.

Thel, if you’re about, I bought two pairs of those slippers you were touting last week, we’ll see when they get here (Xmas present for myself).

FCM, Herald, you should have at least gone somewhere romantic, like Burger King and gotten the crowns…and Happy Anniversary, Moooommmm.

OW, thanks for the story…and now I miss ruble again (not as much as you do).

OK, need to forage in the refrigerator for sustenance. All y’all take care.

talky, was it something bad on the pizza, or just overconsumption?

Back from the food run. I scored a spiral sliced ham on sale, so sammiches, plus a bone for bean soup! And I got a used hunk of sirloin that’s been cut up and frozen for future meals. After stowing everything, I got the pot roast started.

It’s in the slow cooker in broth/burgundy/worcestershire with onion chunks and celery. Before we head out to look at lights, I’ll add in the carrots and N.O.T. chunks, so supper will be ready when we get home. YUM!

SIL doesn’t need me till at least 1330, then maybe not at all - I may go futz in the basement for a while. There are bins that need to be sorted and I can do that without help. Much of the work to be done in the closet requires 2 people, and FCD is running a stress analysis, then writing up a report, so he’s unavailable for a bit. Since I have Roku down there, I’ll have entertainment while I futz.

MetalMouse - there was no BK in Green Cove Springs, so no crowns for us. :frowning: We did have a nice dinner, tho, and we finally had a honeymoon a year later. And a baby 9 months after that…

My Other Shoe and I eloped, too! The bride wore jeans, and we went to the TX State Fair that afternoon for our honeymoon.

I’ve never been happier.

A few years later, Big Tex (the statue that welcomed everyone to the Fair) burned down. We watched it, on the news, in his I.C.U. room. He was coherent enough to watch it, too. I remember thinking, “See, this is what happens when we don’t go to the fair. Whole damn thing burns to the ground.”

So they had a bunch of noobs to unload the smalls trailer, so that bit was done early. They were gonna pull up a 53 footer*, but didn’t because…reasons. So I spend half of the first shift pulling bags from the other unloads. And since there were only a few, I mainly stood around like in the credits of Laverne and Shirley.

I take it you were acquitted? :stuck_out_tongue:
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

License, pfffft. When did you buy a deviled aig tray? Down here you’re living in sin till you have a deviled aig tray.

*Max load of a 53’ trailer is 45,000 pounds. So I have indeed moved 16 tons.

FCM & FCD, Happy anniversary!
